The candidate would be joining a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields. Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.\nOur organization has established PTC Windchill as a strategic enterprise PLM platform and is focused on expanding its capabilities, refining existing processes, and further developing a scalable framework that can support programs of varying size, complexity, and product-development needs.\nThe successful candidate will be an experienced Windchill professional who can operate with a high degree of independence while working within the strategic PLM architecture and governance framework established by the Chief PLM Architect. Given a business need and overall architectural direction, this individual should be capable of engaging stakeholders, analyzing current processes, defining requirements, developing future-state solutions, and working with technical teams to carry those solutions through implementation.\nThis is not primarily a Windchill system administration or software-development position. We are seeking someone who understands how Windchill functions as a full lifecycle product-development and configuration-management platform, with hands-on experience across areas such as Parts and product structures, Documents, CAD data management, Change Management, workflows and lifecycles, and MCAD/ECAD integrations.\nThe ideal candidate will combine strong existing Windchill knowledge with the judgment, initiative, technical curiosity, and leadership potential needed to grow into broader enterprise PLM architecture responsibilities. This position offers the opportunity to help shape a mature, sustainable, and scalable PLM framework while balancing common enterprise processes, program-specific needs, system maintainability, product-data integrity, and long-term Digital Thread objectives.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nPartner with Windchill administrators, developers, integration teams, enterprise architects, and external vendors to ensure functional requirements are translated into effective technical solutions.\nServe as a Windchill PLM functional subject matter expert and business process architect supporting the continued development of enterprise PLM capabilities.\nOperate independently within the overall strategy and architecture established by the Chief PLM Architect, escalating significant architectural decisions, exceptions, or deviations for enterprise review.\nSupport the further development and refinement of a common, scalable PLM framework that promotes standardization, reuse, governance, and maintainability while supporting the varying needs of individual programs.\nSupport development, functional testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment, user adoption, and post-implementation process refinement.\nLead or facilitate business-process discovery and AS-IS / TO-BE process-development activities with Engineering, Configuration Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Program Management, and other stakeholders.\nTranslate business and engineering needs into clear functional requirements, process models, solution concepts, user stories, acceptance criteria, and implementation recommendations.\nDevelop and refine business processes using Windchill objects and capabilities including:WTParts and engineering product structures/BOMs\nWTDocuments and controlled product documentation\nEPMDocuments and CAD data\nProduct structures and product relationships\nChange Requests, Change Notices, Change Tasks, Variances, and related Change Management objects\nLifecycle states and lifecycle templates\nWorkflows and approval processes\nRevision and version management\nBaselines and configuration-control concepts\nEffectivity and product configuration concepts\nTypes, attributes, classifications, roles, teams, and access controls\n\nDevelop, evaluate, and improve Engineering Change and Configuration Management processes, including change initiation, impact assessment, technical review, approval, implementation, release, and downstream communication.\nSupport functional architecture for MCAD and eventually ECAD integrations with Windchill, including CAD data management, product structure development, CAD-to-Part relationships, release processes, and engineering collaboration.\nEvaluate existing business processes and identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, or better leverage native Windchill capabilities.\nPerform functional fit-gap assessments and recommend whether requirements should be addressed through:Standard Windchill functionality\nBusiness-process changes\nWindchill configuration\nSystem integration\nCustom development\n\nPromote an out-of-the-box and configuration-first approach where practical to minimize unnecessary customization and improve long-term system maintainability and upgradeability.\nSupport integrations between Windchill and other enterprise systems, including ERP, MES, manufacturing, reporting/analytics, requirements-management, supplier, and Digital Engineering systems.\nSupport development of an integrated Digital Thread connecting engineering product definition with downstream manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and sustainment processes.\nParticipate in PLM capability planning and prioritization and support the development of short- and long-term enhancement roadmaps.\nFacilitate workshops, demonstrations, design reviews, requirements reviews, and other working sessions with business and technical stakeholders.\nDevelop and maintain PLM process documentation, functional specifications, process flows, architecture decisions, standards, and implementation guidance.\nIdentify opportunities to establish reusable patterns and common solutions rather than creating unnecessary program-specific configurations.\nServe as a trusted PLM advisor to Engineering, Configuration Management, and program stakeholders.\nContinue developing knowledge and experience in enterprise PLM architecture with increasing responsibility for solution architecture, governance, and strategic capability planning.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline with relevant professional experience. Equivalent combinations of education and directly applicable experience may be considered.\n8+ years of professional experience in PLM, primarily working directly with engineering systems, product development, configuration management, manufacturing systems, and related disciplines.\n5+ years of hands-on experience administering or providing functional or business process direction with PTC Windchill, including experience using Windchill as a PLM platform (WTParts/Documents & Change Management) . This does not include experience where Windchill was used solely as a CAD only vault (PDM) or basic document file vault location without any workflows.\nDemonstrated ability to work independently, analyze complex business-process problems, develop practical solutions, and carry assigned initiatives from requirements development through implementation.\nDemonstrated experience with deep knowledge across multiple Windchill functional areas, including several of the following:WTParts and product structures/BOMs\nWTDocuments\nCAD data management\nEngineering Change Management\nWorkflows and lifecycles\nRevision/version management\nConfiguration Management\nProduct release processes\nMCAD or ECAD integrations\n\nStrong understanding of the relationships between WTParts, WTDocuments, EPMDocuments/CAD objects, product structures, lifecycle states, workflows, and Change Management objects.\nExperience with substantial contributions in or leading business-process workshops, requirements gathering, functional design, testing, implementation, or process-improvement activities.\nExperience with Engineering Change Management and Configuration Management concepts within a PLM environment.\nExperience with Windchill CAD data management and integration with one or more major engineering-authoring applications.\nStrong understanding of product structure/BOM management, revision and version control, product release, traceability, and product lifecycle concepts.\nComplete understanding of the Windchill object architecture.\nWorking knowledge of Windchill functional configuration concepts such as workflows, lifecycles, types and attributes, roles/teams, access controls, contexts, and business rules.\nAbility to translate business requirements into clear functional requirements and communicate those requirements effectively to technical implementation teams.\nDemonstrated initiative, intellectual curiosity, and ability to develop expertise in new PLM capabilities and business-process areas.\nAbility and willingness to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance in the near future. (U.S. Citizenship is required)\nOnsite & hybrid work preference in Huntsville Alabama. \n100% remote with limited travel will be considered for candidates meeting preferred qualifications.\nPreferred Qualifications\n7-10+ years of direct PTC Windchill experience.\nDirect experience as a Windchill organization or site manager within the PLM system.\nExperience serving as a Windchill Functional Lead, Senior PLM Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, Solution Consultant, Business Process Architect, Solution Architect, or similar role.\nExperience working on multiple Windchill implementations, major upgrades, PLM migrations, or transformation initiatives.\nExperience with Windchill in Aerospace & Defense, complex manufacturing, or another highly regulated product-development environment.\nExperience with multiple Windchill capabilities or modules such as PDMLink, MPMLink, PartsLink, ProjectLink, Navigate, Options and Variants, Supplier Management, or related PTC solutions.\nExperience with both Creo and SOLIDWORKS integration with Windchill, including Windchill Workgroup Manager concepts and CAD/Part structure relationships.\nExperience with ECAD data-management and integration processes.\nExperience with EBOM-to-MBOM processes and integration between engineering and manufacturing product structures.\nExperience integrating Windchill with ERP, MES, manufacturing, or other enterprise platforms.\nExperience with product effectivity, configurable products, options and variants, or complex product configuration.\nExperience migrating data from legacy PLM/PDM systems or harmonizing multiple engineering processes into a common enterprise PLM framework.\nExperience supporting Digital Thread, Model-Based Enterprise, Model-Based Definition, Model-Based Systems Engineering, or Digital Engineering initiatives.\nFamiliarity with Configuration Management and quality standards used within Aerospace & Defense environments, such as EIA-649, MIL-HDBK-61, AS9100, and applicable product-definition standards.\nExperience with PLM governance, process ownership, architecture review, or design-authority processes.\nExperience with Windchill+, cloud-hosted Windchill environments, or modern Windchill deployment models.\nPTC Windchill certifications or equivalent demonstrated expertise.\nExperience working within FedRAMP rated environments. \nOnsite support in the Huntsville, Alabama area. Our \nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
