As a Junior Machine Vision Engineer, you will be part of the Computer Vision team and work on technology that quite literally forms the “eyes” of our robots.\nTogether with colleagues from computer vision, mechatronics, and animal science, you will develop solutions that enable robots to better understand their environment and respond accordingly. You will contribute to applications in the field of image recognition and algorithms, with the ultimate goal of improving the lives of both farmers and cows.\nYou will work in a small, close-knit team where collaboration, learning, and experimentation are key. From time to time, you will visit farms to see your work in practice and gather valuable feedback from the field.\nYour main responsibilities:\nResearching, designing, and implementing computer vision algorithms.\nWorking on image recognition applications using deep learning and neural networks.\nTesting and validating algorithms in close collaboration with colleagues and in real-life environments.\nContributing to iterative improvements within an Agile/Scrum working environment.\nCollaborating with specialists from different disciplines to develop robust and reliable solutions.\n You are at the start of your career or have a few years of experience and are curious about how computer vision and AI are applied in real-world products. You enjoy learning, asking questions, and developing technology together with others.\nYou bring:\nA completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or a comparable field.\nA strong interest in computer vision, deep learning, and neural networks (for example through internships, projects, or a thesis).\nBasic programming experience in C++ is a must, Python is a plus.\nFamiliarity with tools and frameworks such as OpenCV, PyTorch, or similar is a plus.\nAffinity with Agile/Scrum ways of working.\nGood command of the English language; Dutch is a plus or you are willing to learn.\nA curious, collaborative mindset and the motivation to continue developing yourself.\n Working at Lely means contributing to sustainable progress within one of the most innovative organizations in the Netherlands.
