We're building the future of insurance with AI at the center, and we need people who are genuinely excited to learn and grow alongside these tools.\nIn this role you'll\nLead the month-end close process for Lemonade Inc., Agency, and Life Agency - including P&L analytics, vendor breakdown reviews, and detailed expense reviews across entities\n\nManage all parent company accrual schedules, including contract and vendor accruals, professional and legal fee schedules, and underwriting expenses\n\nOwn share-based compensation accounting in partnership with Fidelity - preparing entries for all subsidiaries, footnote disclosures, and recording of stock option exercises\n\nOversee intercompany relationships, settlement of transactions, translation true-ups, and cost-plus relationship recording\n\nManage ASC 842 lease schedules in Trullion, prepare monthly entries, and support lease disclosure preparation\n\nLead the organization and delivery of year-end and quarterly audit procedures, and support annual SOX testing\n\nSupport the Controller and Director of Technical Accounting in quarterly SEC financial reporting - including financial reporting packages, footnote and disclosure preparation, and audit review support\n\nAct as Finance-level AP approver for the vast majority of invoices, ensuring accuracy and appropriate tagging before escalation to cost center managers\n\nRun monthly allocations, prepare allocation review schedules, reperform occupancy calculations, and support monthly GAAP ULAE entries\n\nPartner cross-functionally with Business Development, Offline Media, Production, and Growth Development on financial operations including invoices, accruals, and processing\n\nWhat you'll need\n5+ years of experience in public or private accounting, with demonstrated ownership of complex, multi-entity close processes\n\nStrong command of U.S. GAAP, including working knowledge of ASC 842, share-based compensation, intercompany accounting, and SEC reporting requirements\n\nAdvanced Excel and Google Sheets skills\n\nExperience with Workday ERP is a plus\n\nComfortable operating across multiple entities and legal structures simultaneously\n\nSharp attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines without dropping the ball\n\nA bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field\n\nAbility to work in our Soho, NYC office 3 days per week\n\nPlease note that we are unable to sponsor applicants for work visas.\n Unfortunately, we cannot consider applicants from these states: Alaska, California, Colorado, Montana, Hawaii, New Mexico and Puerto Rico.\nLemonade's US base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000 - $137,500 plus equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
