We challenge the status quo to solve problems and find smarter solutions\n\nBuild the best technology in-house: we use new data sources, machine learning and AI to make machines do the heavy lifting\n\nRole overview\nWe’re looking for a Platform Engineer to help build and operate the multi-account AWS platforms that power Lendable’s products. You’ll join a Platform Engineering team of eight and work closely with product engineering teams across the business.\nThis is a hands-on production role where reliability and fast recovery matter. You’ll contribute to the design, delivery and operation of platform capabilities, working with more experienced engineers to make our systems safer, easier to use and more efficient.\nWe build with self-service in mind: creating paved roads, useful abstractions and sensible guardrails so product teams can move quickly without needing to understand all the underlying complexity.\nWhat you’ll do\nBuild and operate the platform\nBuild, configure and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform and Terragrunt, with support from the wider Platform Engineering team\n\nHelp operate Kubernetes, GitOps and observability tooling in production\n\nInvestigate and resolve platform issues, contributing to incident response and post-incident improvements\n\nShare an on-call rotation with the team\n\nEnable safe, fast delivery\nSupport progressive rollouts, canary deployments and safe rollbacks\n\nContribute to CI/CD and developer tooling that improves the engineering experience\n\nPartner with engineering teams on infrastructure, database and deployment best practices\n\nHelp improve self-service capabilities and platform adoption across teams\n\nBuild security into everyday engineering\nApply security practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle\n\nContribute to policy-as-code, OIDC-based cloud access, secret scanning and pre-merge controls\n\nWork with the Platform Engineering and Security teams to improve the safety of our systems\n\nKeep learning and improving\nUse AI-assisted tooling for code generation, debugging and platform operations\n\nShare knowledge through documentation, pairing and constructive code reviews\n\nBuild the confidence to take on increasing ownership of platform components over time\n\nWhat you’ll bring\nEssential experience\nPractical experience deploying and supporting applications running on Kubernetes\n\nExperience working with a cloud platform, ideally AWS\n\nWorking knowledge of infrastructure as code, ideally Terraform\n\nExperience with modern CI/CD tooling\n\nComfort scripting in at least one of TypeScript/Node, Python or Go\n\nA good grounding in Linux, networking and security fundamentals\n\nExperience troubleshooting production systems and working through operational issues\n\nUseful experience\nTerragrunt or Helm\n\nGitHub Actions, ArgoCD or Flux\n\nDatadog, Prometheus or Grafana\n\nPostgreSQL or MySQL\n\nSupporting developer-experience or internal-platform improvements\n\nWorking with security tooling or policy-as-code\n\nWe don’t expect every box to be ticked.
