We also offer optional benefits such as critical care, auto, home and pet insurance as well as other ancillary insurance options.\nPlease note: This position is located in our Lawrenceville GA Corporate office and is not available for remote work.\nSUMMARY\nThe SVP, Associate General Counsel will report to the Chief Legal Officer/General Counsel and play a critical leadership role within the Company’s Legal Department and across the organization. This senior attorney will manage and mentor other attorneys in the Legal Department, anticipate and mitigate potential legal and regulatory risks, provide legal support and strategic legal advice to cross-functional business partners, and ensure the Company’s operations remain compliant with all applicable state and federal financial services laws. This individual will be responsible for identifying and analyzing legal issues, drafting documents, reviewing complex contracts, managing defensive litigation, presenting recommendations to cross-functional business partners, and ensuring legal compliance for the organization.\nMAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES\nLead, supervise, and mentor a team of attorneys and legal staff, fostering professional growth and collaboration.\nAdvise cross-functional business units on all relevant legal and regulatory matters.\nAssist with overseeing the legal department’s operations, including workflow management and coordination of external counsel.\nPrepare, review, negotiate, and advise on complex legal documents, including commercial contracts.\nPrepare correspondence with regulators, customers, and opposing counsel.\nMonitor and conduct legal research regarding state and federal consumer lending laws and regulations.\nIdentify, analyze, and communicate legal risks and opportunities related to new products, services, and delivery channels.\nManage defensive litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters, including strategy development and case oversight.\nAssist General Counsel with higher-level matters, as needed.\nBASIC REQUIREMENTS\nJD degree and admission to a state bar required.\nLicensed to practice law in at least one state in the United States.\n12+ years of progressive legal experience, with significant exposure to consumer financial services, regulatory compliance, contract review, and litigation.\nSignificant background working for a FinTech, bank, credit union, non-depository lending institution, state or federal consumer financial services regulatory agency, or with a large law firm representing consumer financial services companies.\nExperience managing attorneys or legal teams either in-house, at a government agency, or at a law firm.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.
