The Estimator is also responsible to assist in the review, verification, and elimination of material EPO requests. The Estimator should perform cost analysis recommendations on proposed plan changes.\nA career with purpose.\nA career built on making dreams come true.\nA career built on building zero defect homes, cost management, and adherence to schedules.\nYour Responsibilities on the Team\nCreate material take-offs for all existing, new, and revised plans. Initial need is for framing category.\nMaintain the take-offs of all active plans.\nInteract with Purchasing and Operations departments to verify take-off change requests.\nInteract with architect/engineering consultants regarding plan changes impacting take-offs.\nAnalyze plans for cost analysis recommendations and research cost of proposed design ideas.\nAssist in the review of material EPO requests to ensure in accordance with take-offs and scopes of work, and eliminate the need for material EPO’s.\nComplete take-offs as needed due to special projects and specification changes.\nField verification of actual quantities vs. quantity take offs.\nPerform all other duties as assigned.\nYour Toolbox\nTwo (2) years of residential construction/architecture experience required\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred\nFull understanding of residential construction, architectural, structural, & MEP design required\nAdvanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially in the use of Excel spreadsheets and formulas for financial modeling; must have the ability to work with JD Edwards, Build Pro, and other proprietary software\nProfessionally perform multiple, detailed-oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlines\nGood writing and organization skills\nPossess strong work ethic, integrity and loyalty\nTeam player with the ability to work well under pressure\nMust have initiative and be able to achieve objectives with minimal supervision\nMust be detail oriented and a problem solver able to deal with complex situations\nMust have a valid driver’s license\nInteract well with co-workers\nUnderstand and follow work rules and procedures\nAccept constructive feedback\nPhysical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:\nRegular, in-person attendance at Company communities/job sites and offices during regular work hours is an essential function of this job. \nRequires the ability to work more than eight hours per day in the confined quarters of a construction trailer, the ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry equipment which may be in excess of 50 pounds. \nJob may require occasional operation of construction equipment. \nFinger dexterity may be required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.\nThis description outlines the basic responsibilities and requirements for the position noted.
