Come, stay, and grow with us.\nWhat Drives Success\nWe are seeking ahighly motivated and innovative Mechanical Engineer to join our Advanced Technology Group, focusing on the commercial HVAC segment. This role involves developing and validating next-generation HVACR technologies with a focus on energy efficiency, sustainability, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance.\nThe ideal candidate will be passionate about emerging technologies, system-level design, and solving complex thermal and mechanical challenges.\nDUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:\nLead and support the mechanical design, analysis, and prototyping of advanced HVACR components and systems (e.g., compressors, heat exchangers, fans, enclosures).\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams (controls, electrical, materials, software) to develop integrated solutions.\nConduct feasibility studies, concept development, and performance simulations (CFD, FEA, thermodynamic models).\nEvaluate new materials, design approaches, and processes to enhance product performance and manufacturability.\nDevelop and execute test plans for lab validation and performance characterization.\nParticipate in technical reviews, design for manufacturability (DFM), and risk assessment (FMEA).\nWork closely with external research institutions, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to drive innovation.\nMaintain awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes (e.g., low-GWP refrigerants, DOE standards).\nDocument technical work through reports, specifications, and intellectual property (patents, invention disclosures).\n#LI-JM1 #LI-onsite\nWhat We Are Looking For\n Required:\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.\nExperience with scientific programming (example: Python, VBA, EES, MATLAB, or C++).\nFamiliarity with HVACR system architecture and components.\nStrong foundation in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.\nHands-on experience with prototyping, lab testing, and data analysis.\nAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced R&D environment.\nEffective communication and technical writing skills.\nPreferred:\nMaster’s or Ph.D. in mechanical engineering.\nPrevious work experience in HVACR, thermal systems, or product development in a related industry.\nKnowledge of low-GWP refrigerants, decarbonization strategies, and energy codes.\nPatents or publications in relevant technical areas.\nWhat We Offer\nCompensation: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $97,000 - $127,050 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for the BroadBase Incentive (BBI) program with a target payout of 2%.
