If you enjoy solving complex engineering challenges, collaborating with global suppliers, and bringing new technologies to market, this is the role for you.\nDUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:\nInvestigate technological advancements or new technologies in vapor compression system and provide conceptual or practical applications for these technologies within Lennox business units.\nDevelop reliability / design verification plans for each component / technology based on product design requirements and reliability goals.\nProvide design input to improve component / product reliability and meet specifications when necessary.\nProvide detailed test plans and test reports.\nProvide Leadership in HVAC components functional area.\nManage multiple projects, work with cross functional teams and deliver on performance, quality, cost and schedule.\nConduct verification and reliability testing on Components and sub systems.\nEnsure Lennox drawings and specifications are understood and followed by the suppliers in design and testing.\nOptimize component design for performance, efficiency, reliability and cost.\nSupport the implementation of these components with documentation, test and reliability plans from supplier selection to Lennox production.\nPerform supplier engineering capability evaluations and recommend supplier selection and improvements.\nConduct characterization studies to define the critical performance features, CTQ (Critical to Quality) and related requirement for process capability. \nPrioritize and complete tasks to meet deadlines.\nInteract with a wide variety of individuals and teams to communicate results. \nLead and provide guidance in the development of product and materials specifications for prototypes and verification testing protocols. \nCoordinate verification testing activities.\nProvide sustaining engineering support of existing products. \nPrepare and coordinates verification and validation activities during investigation and design change activities.\nStatistical data analysis to provide risk assessments of a design.\nAssist Supplier Development teams in evaluation of processes to support critical characteristics and proposed changes to product.\n#LI-onsite #LI-JM1\nWhat We Are Looking For\nB.S. in Mechanical or Metallurgy Engineering. M.S. Preferred.\n5+ years’ work experience in applying various motors, electro-mechanical or compression technology in HVAC system design.\nKnowledge of metals (Aluminum, copper, steel) is a plus.\nIn depth Knowledge in design or application of HVAC component qualification (compressor, motors, EEV, TXV or electro-mechanical).\nStrong understanding of six sigma principles.\nKnowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, quality and reliability procedures is required.\nKnowledge of manufacturing process.\nKnowledge of failure analysis to identify root cause.\nExceptional problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.\nDynamic “can do” attitude with desire to work with a great team and products.\nSkilled in facilitating meetings, making presentations and communicating with cross-functional teams.\nWhat We Offer\nCompensation: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $97,000 - $127,050 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for the BroadBase Incentive (BBI) program with a target payout of 2%.
