Come, stay, and grow with us.\nWhat Drives Success\nThe factory Safety Engineer is responsible for leading and supporting initiatives that promote a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant manufacturing workplace. This role develops, implements, and monitors health, safety, environmental, and ergonomics programs that drive continuous improvement and support year-over-year reductions in workplace incidents and risks. The Safety Engineer partners closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company standards while fostering a proactive safety culture throughout the facility.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nDevelop, implement, and maintain health, safety, environmental, and ergonomics programs for the manufacturing facility.\nMonitor and analyze safety performance metrics and recommend corrective and preventive actions to drive continuous improvement.\nConduct risk assessments, safety audits, ergonomic evaluations, and incident investigations to identify hazards and reduce workplace risks.\nPartner with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams during the design and modification of facilities, equipment, processes, and work areas to ensure HSE compliance and safe work practices.\nDevelop and maintain environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, training materials, and documentation.\nEnsure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other applicable standards.\nStay current on changes in HSE laws, regulations, and industry best practices and communicate impacts to facility leadership.\nServe as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and support inspections, audits, and reporting requirements.\nLead or support employee safety training programs and promote a culture of accountability and engagement in workplace safety.\nRecommend and implement innovative solutions and best practices to improve workplace safety, ergonomics, and environmental performance.\nSupport emergency response planning, incident management, and corrective action follow-up activities.\nProvide guidance, coaching, and technical expertise to supervisors, leaders, and employees regarding HSE matters.\nMay provide work direction or mentorship to other HSE professionals or site safety representatives.\nWhat We Are Looking For\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE), Engineering, or a related field required.\nMinimum of 8 years of relevant experience in health, safety, environmental, and/or industrial safety within a manufacturing or industrial environment.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nCertified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred.\nLean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience preferred.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE management systems preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nExpert knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and workers’ compensation best practices and regulations.\nProven success driving continuous improvement initiatives in HSE performance and safety culture.\nStrong experience developing, implementing, and facilitating safety and compliance training programs.\nExperience conducting incident investigations and utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies such as Apollo Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), or similar tools.\nExceptional written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with and present to senior leadership and executives.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.\nAbility to influence cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.\nWhat We Offer\nCompensation: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $112,000 - $147,000 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan.
