Come, stay, and grow with us.\nWhat Drives Success\nLocation: Richardson, TX (This position is 100% onsite at our headquarters in Richardson, TX, requiring attendance in-office 5 days a week, Monday-Friday)\nThe Network Security Analyst position will act as a first-level escalation point for concerns involving firewall access requests, network troubleshooting, and VPN issues.\nThis role is a full-time employment opportunity. Some weekend and/or after-hours work may be required to assist high severity security issues.\nThe analyst will be responsible for initial response to incidents involving client VPN and troubleshooting firewall issues.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nDesign and implement approved firewall change requests in accordance with established guidelines.\nPerform operational checks of the firewalls to ensure optimal operation.\nConduct periodic review of firewall policies to identify and remove any unused, duplicate, or expired objects and/or rules through change management.\nAssist IT teams in troubleshooting network connectivity issues involving systems, applications, and services.\nAttend meetings related to KT& troubleshooting issues, roadmap & project discussions and change control meetings. \nInitiate the RMA of faulty firewall equipment. \nWork closely with the security engineering team to implement security enhancements and/or mitigate identified security gaps.\nAssist with firewall updates, and operating system upgrades.\nAssist with troubleshooting client VPN connectivity issues.\nPreparing escalations for the engineering team when determined a higher-level issue exist or break fix is required.\nCOMPETENCIES\nGood understanding of malware (computer viruses, worms, spyware, ransomware, etc.) and associated risk mitigation techniques.\nStrong understanding of next generation firewall technologies; Palo Alto experience required.\nStrong understanding of the uses and associated cyber security risks of well-known network ports and protocols such as SSL, HTTP, DNS, SMTP, FTP, SSH, IPsec, etc.\nUnderstanding threat mitigation profiles and configuration in next generation firewalls.\nStrong intrusion detection / prevention system (IDS/IPS) knowledge.\nAbility to interpret and understand firewall traffic and threat logs.\nAbility to troubleshoot network connectivity and application problems. \nStrong understanding of computer network routing and switching fundamentals.\nFamiliarity of Windows Server 2008/2012/2019 and Windows 11\nFamiliarity of the Linux operating system.\nFamiliarity of current threats and trends in Cyber Security\nBasic understanding of cyber security frameworks (e.g., NIST, zero trust)\nFamiliarity with industry data security, privacy, and regulatory standards.\nPreferred ability to lift 25lbs \nWhat We Are Looking For\nQUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\n5 Years of relevant experience with 2-3 years of experience managing and configuring Palo Alto NextGen Firewalls.\n3 years of experience working with Windows operating systems\nOne or more of the following certifications is preferred: (ISC)2 SSCP, CompTIA Security+, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, SANS GSEC, or Cisco CCNP Security.\n1-2 years of experience using ssh connectivity tools such as Putty\nAssociates degree in related field or equivalent experience required.\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal required.\nSome experience working in environments that have Change Control processes\nSelf-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.\nAbility to work individually and as part of a team.\nAbility to be flexible and work after business hours to support IT changes or troubleshoot issues\nAbility to work in the office 5 days a week\nWillingness to learn new technologies and platforms in the IT Security space\nWhat We Offer\nCompensation: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $99,000 - $130,200 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan.
