GCAP will deliver Tempest, the sixth-generation combat aircraft for the Royal Air Force and partner nations.\nWe want you to develop a new generation of features and capabilities using innovative software solutions for the GCAP Integrated Communications System (ICS).\nDirect industry experience is not required; we are happy to explore all backgrounds and help develop all our software engineers.\nThis role is based at the Leonardo UK Southampton site.\nWhat you’ll Bring\nYou will have a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline (or significant relevant experience), together with experience delivering software solutions within a complex engineering environment.\nEssential Experience:\nStrong C++ programming skills\nDevelopment of Linux applications\nTCP/IP\nIt is useful if you have some of these skills:\nDeveloping C# applications\nFamiliarity with formal software lifecycle processes including Requirements Management, Design, Implementation, Test and Integration\nFamiliarity with Configuration Management process and tools e.g. git\nSoftware design experience e.g. SysML / UML\nContinuous Integration (CI) tools\nKnowledge of Docker, Virtual Machines\nKnowledge of high integrity software development practices e.g. RTCA DO-178C, AUTOSAR / MISRA C/C++\nSoftware development for ARM processors\nWe are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above.
