A key player in major strategic programs at the global level, Leonardo is a technology and industrial partner to governments, defence administrations, institutions, and businesses.\nWorking supporting Structural Analysis Team at our Cascina Costa or Brindisi site and offsite to study and develop research on helicopter structures by providing analytical modeling supported by tests.\nAs part of the Structures Team you will be responsible for developing structural reasearch solutions in collaboration with other engineering departments and key stakeholders, for our wide product range encompassing conventional helicopters and tilt rotors.\nOur analysis team supports both the UK and Italian geographies so although based in Italy there is the opportunity to work on our full product range.\nWhat you’ll do as a Master Thesist in Structure Dept.\nYou’ll be responsible for coordination, creation and delivery of varied and challenging study and develop research on helicopter structures with the collaboration of Design/Analysis/Certification & Qualification/Manufacturing teams.\nFinal objective is to build a report of all the research activity as university thesis.\nThis will be performed with the support of a nominated tutor, internal person in Leonardo Helicopter Structures Dept.\nWhat we need from you to be a successful Structural Analysis Engineer\nThe ability to own problems and provide pragmatic solutions to challenging timescales and budgets\nA university knowledge in the analysis of engineering structures\nKnowledge in conventional (hand calculation) and numerical (finite element) techniques for static analysis\nA university knowledge of fatigue and damage tolerance\nA university knowledge of composite materials and analysis principles\nExperience in using MSC NASTRAN (preferable)\nExperience in using Altair HyperMesh (preferable) or Patran (optional)\nQualifications /Requirements\nMaster Degree ongoing in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university\nGood university knowledge in structural failure criteria, fatigue analysis, dynamic analysis\nGood interpersonal and communication skills, Team working and inclusiveness proven capabilities.
