The Systems Engineering team operate across the full lifecycle, and so you will have involvement across Requirements Definition, Functional Design, Design Change Management, Trials Support & Analysis, and Verification & Validation.\nAs a systems engineer you will work closely with a broad range of engineering disciplines, including software, integration & test, and international partner organisations. The role will require you to work with a range of stakeholders, including the Systems Team Lead, Chief Systems and Software Engineers, and Design Authorities.\nThis is a rare opportunity to make a significant contribution to a strategically important programme at the heart of a world-class engineering organisation, offering significant professional development and clear succession pathway.\nWhat you’ll do:\nSupport the Chief Systems Engineer to:\nCo-ordinate maintenance of ECRS Mk0 System Engineering Development Plan and Integrated Test, Evaluation and Acceptance Plan (ITEAP)\nDefine the functional architecture for the ECRS Mk0 Radar System\nCo-ordinate the system functional design of the ECRS Mk0 product\nProvide technical leadership to System Subject Matter Experts within the Integrated Programme Team\nDevelop and mentor System Subject Matter Experts within the Integrated Programme Team\nAct as Leonardo UK’s principal contributor to the Euroradar Systems Engineering Group\nYou will also:\nDeputise for the Chief Systems Engineer across relevant forums and areas of responsibility\nBuild effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support programme delivery\nHelp shape the technical direction and long-term capability development of the product\nWhat you’ll bring:\nExperience providing technical leadership in a dynamic engineering environment\nExperience of Radar Systems Design and/or Qualification at a Lead Engineer level\nFamiliarity with the principles of Pulsed Doppler radar waveform design and signal processing implementation\nFamiliarity with the principles of Radar tracking and trade-offs against supporting detection schemes\nExperience of Integration, Test, Evaluation and Acceptance (ITEA)\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to obtain SC security clearance\nExperience of working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders\nWhat else would help:\nDegree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant engineering, science or technology discipline\nChartered Engineer status is desirable\nExperience with any of the following tools: MATLAB, Simulink, Siemens Teamcenter, IBM DOORS\nWe recognise that no candidate is likely to meet every requirement.
