As a Security Coordinator, you will support the day-to-day security activities that help keep the programme compliant, secure and running effectively.\nWorking closely with project, engineering, manufacturing and security teams, you will administer established security processes, maintain key records and provide routine advice based on approved procedures, referring more complex queries to the designated security lead. You'll play an important role in protecting sensitive information and supporting the successful delivery of a strategically important product.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in security within a highly innovative and collaborative environment.\nThis role is primarily based at our Yeovil facility, with flexible working available where compatible with business needs.\nWhat you'll do as a Security Coordinator\nAs a Security Coordinator, you will support the established security processes and controls that enable the safe and compliant delivery of project activities. You will be responsible for managing your own workload within the given scope and be supported with non-routine security decisions and exceptions by the Site Security Lead.\nSecurity Support & Administration\nSupport the management of personnel access to secure project environments. \nCheck security clearance status against approved requirements and maintain associated records, escalating any discrepancies. \nAssist with visitor management processes, ensuring compliance with approved security procedures. \nSupport the administration of security passes, access permissions and secure area records. \nMaintain registers for classified assets, documents and project artefacts. \nAssist with the tracking, auditing and control of classified material. \nSupport the secure handling, storage and destruction of classified information. \nMaintain records relating to the transfer of information, equipment and project materials. \nLiaise with site security teams and project stakeholders to support compliance with approved security procedures and escalate any concerns. \nSupport project security inspections, reviews and customer visits. \nDeliver approved security briefings and support inductions for new starters and project personnel. \nRespond to routine security enquiries based on approved internal security guidelines and escalate issues where required. \nHelp maintain project security documentation, procedures and records. \nProject & Customer Support\nProvide a professional and responsive service to internal and external stakeholders. \nSupport in maintaining compliance with customer and government security requirements. \nAssist with the preparation of documentation and evidence required for security reviews and audits. \nEscalate security concerns, incidents or compliance issues appropriately. \nBuild effective working relationships across project, engineering and operational teams. \nProcess Administration\nMaintain accurate electronic and physical security records. \nEnsure security documentation is stored, retained and disposed of in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. \nSupport the continuous improvement of project security processes and documentation. \nAssist with the preparation of security metrics, reports and project records. \nTeam Working\nWork closely with project, engineering and security teams to support project delivery. \nShare security knowledge and good practice with colleagues when required. \nContribute positively to a collaborative and supportive team environment. \nAdapt to changing project priorities and workloads. \nWhat you'll bring\nWe're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and keen to develop their career in a security focused role.\nCore Areas (Must Have)\nExperience in an administrative, security, compliance or governance role within a regulated environment. \nAn understanding of the importance of protecting sensitive and classified information. \nStrong attention to detail and the ability to follow defined processes accurately. \nGood organisational and record management skills. \nConfidence working with a range of stakeholders and customers. \nStrong written and verbal communication skills. \nThe ability to work independently while also contributing to a wider team. \nGood IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications. \nA professional, customer-focused approach and willingness to learn. \nDesirable\nPrevious experience within Defence, Aerospace, Government, Engineering or another highly regulated environment. \nAwareness of UK Government security requirements and classified information handling. \nExperience maintaining controlled records, registers or compliance documentation. \nExperience supporting audits, reviews or assurance activities. \nThis is not an exhaustive list, and we welcome applications from candidates who may not meet every requirement.
