A mixture of formal and on-the-job training will be available to introduce new concepts and build on existing skills and experience.\nWhat you will do:\nAs part of a growing UK wide team, and depending on your skills and expertise, work may include:\nThe development of existing product and advanced research into cutting-edge solutions for both new and existing platforms.\nUsing various EM simulation codes (e.g. CST Microwave Studio and FEKO) to analyse and optimise the design and installation impacts of sensors on a ‘stealthy’ vehicle.\nUndertake the detailed design and development of antenna/radome (sensor/window) and any frequency selective component, together with their associated electrical, mechanical and functional interfaces.\nTechnical assessment and modelling of system or subsystem design to ensure compatibility with overall system performance.\nPresent results and designs through both written reports and oral presentations.\nYou will provide technical assistance and guidance to others, whilst promoting a culture of sharing best practice and process improvement.\nWhat you really must have:\nDegree in a STEM subject (Physics, Mathematics, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, or other science-based subject).\nExperience / Education in at least one of the following areas of Electromagnetics: Low Observables (LO), Stealth Technology, Radio frequency (RF) design, Antenna design/modelling/measurement or Computational Electromagnetic Modelling (CEM)\nExcellent numerical problem solving skills and an aptitude for lateral thinking.\nThe ability to assimilate complicated topics quickly and possess strong communication skills to convey complex subjects to our teams.\nIt would be nice of you had:\nA Master’s Degree or PhD in a subject such as Physics, Antenna Design, Propagation, Electromagnetics, Microwave engineering, Data Analysis of measured data, etc.\nWorking knowledge of CST Microwave Studio or similar EM modelling tools.\nScientific programming experience. MATLAB is a preferred tool but knowledge of other languages is acceptable if it suggests an easy adaptation to MATLAB.\nA theoretical or practical knowledge of antenna measurements.\nMeasurement experience using standard equipment (VNA, Spectrum Analyser, etc.).\nSecurity Clearance\nThis role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
