The role may involve a blended hybrid working model, with a mixture of working from home and working on site at one of our Leonardo offices to ensure close collaboration with the wider team and with our customers.\nLeonardo UK is seeking a SeniorPlatform Engineer to join the Cyber & Security Solutions Division team. This role is focused on operating, maintaining, assuringand improving secure cross-domain gateway services that underpin critical defence, governmentand public sector operations.\nWhat you will do as a SeniorPlatform Engineer\nOperate, maintainand support secure cross-domain gateway services across highly controlled environments.\n\nMonitor service health, investigate issuesand support incident, problemand change activity in line with agreed service processes.\n\nMaintain secure configurations, transfer policies, rule setsand supporting documentation.\n\nSupport patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediationand service continuity activities.\n\nTroubleshoot gateway, platform, networkand data transfer issues across security boundaries.\n\nProduce and maintainoperational documentation, including build records, support guides, runbooksand configuration baselines.\n\nWork with security, service management, engineeringand customer stakeholders to ensure cross-domain services remaincompliant, availableand fit for purpose.\n\nIdentifyand deliver continuous service improvements to improve reliability, securityand operational efficiency.\n\nWhat you’llbring\nStrong technical ability with experience operatingand supporting secure platforms or gateway services in controlled environments.\n\nA disciplined service mindset, with the ability to balance hands-on technical support, assurance, documentationand continuous improvement.\n\nConfidence working across technical, security, service managementand customer stakeholders to resolve issues and maintainservice integrity.\n\nCore areas (must have):\nCross-domain solutions: operation, supportand controlled configuration of data transferbetween security domains (e.g. high-to-low, restricted-to-enterprise)\n\nWindows and Linux operating systems\n\nVirtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)\n\nSecure data handling and policy enforcement (sanitisation, validation, filtering)\n\nImplementation of controlled and auditable data transfer mechanisms\n\nNetworking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls)\n\nAutomation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform)\n\nKnowledge of cyber security controls and accreditation requirements\n\nExperience across the systems engineering lifecycle\n\nDesign and assurance of secure data flows across trust boundaries\n\nDelivery within highly controlled / secure environments (e.g. cross-domain, air-gapped, defence)\n\nIncident, problemand change management\n\nMonitoring, patching, vulnerability remediationand service continuity\n\nDesirable:\nExperience with specific cross-domain or secure transfer products, such as Opswator similar\n\nData diode or one-way transfer architectures\n\nIntegration with security tooling, such as SOC, SIEM or monitoringplatforms\n\nPerformance and throughput optimisation for secure data transfer systems\n\nExperience supporting service management processes, including incident, problem, changeand configuration management\n\nExperience with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure, and Infrastructure as Code\n\nHands-on use of DevSecOps tools, CI/CD pipelinesor automation tooling\n\nContainerisation platforms, such as Kubernetes or Docker\n\nSecurity Clearance\nThis role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
