We are a diverse mix of Engineers and Technical Specialists who bring together a wealth of experience and expertise to collaborate, innovate and deliver world-class solutions.\nThe Supportability function has a unique position within our business as it is involved in all the stages of a programme, from Bid, to Development, to Production then Customer Support and eventually disposal. We draw engineers from many different disciplines in addition to Supportability, such as Electronic, Mechanical and Systems Engineering to enhance the Supportability Team.\nWhat you’ll do as a Supportability Engineer:\nYou will be actively involved in analysing, assessing and influencing the supportability characteristics and performance of the next generation of Leonardo products.\nYou will be responsible for;\nEngaging with the Integrated Project Teams to deliver Supportability Engineering (SE) work packages covering Reliability, Maintainability and Testability (RM&T) analysis, Support Strategy planning and modelling.\nUsing a variety of analytical techniques and procedures to perform RM&T analysis on integrated systems.\nWorking closely with systems, mechanical, software, RF, electronics and safety engineers to identify and avoid real support related problems on complex systems, before they reach the Customer.\nUse your engineering talent to grow and develop the supportability community and core skills base.\nContribute to continuous process/procedural improvements to help drive out the cost and reputational consequence of failure.\nUnderstanding the Customers’ operational needs to help guide the development of equipment capable of meeting the needs of future operational environments.\nContributing to IPT and Engineering Unit decision making.\nSupervision of Engineers.\nProvide guidance on through life cost of ownership.\nMentor, coach and develop more junior members of the team.\nProviding domain experience in support of customer and user engagement and product roadmaps.\nWhat we need from you:\nIdeally, you will have a degree in a relevant engineering or science disciple and have either worked in industry, defence or have other relevant experience.\nWe are particularly interested in speaking to you if you have experience in the following areas:\nWorking knowledge of RMT analysis techniques on electronic, power, RF, mechanical and mixed technology systems.\nEquipment Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA)\nFailure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) data collection and analysis\nSafety Hazard Identification and Safety Management inc Fault Tree Analysis\nSupport Strategy Planning, LORA utilising support modelling tools (eg OPUS)\nBids and Proposals support in provision of information and analysis in a ‘Merchant Supply’ environment\nFamiliar with statistical data analysis.\nCreation of beneficial relationships with cross functional colleagues, customers and suppliers\nOur team use: PTC Windchill Risk and Reliability; Reliasoft; OPUS; Simlox; Matlab / Simulink; Jira and Python and although expertise is not essential, familiarity with some would be beneficial.\nSecurity Clearance\nYou must be eligible for full security clearance.
