You will own the DataOps infrastructure, ensuring the performance, reliability, and scalability of data ingestion and processing pipelines to support evolving business and operational demands.\nTo succeed in this data engineering position, you should have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to combine data from different sources. Data engineer skills also include familiarity with several programming languages.\nWhat you’ll do\nOrchestrate the ingestion, processing, and storage of raw data within structured and unstructured data repositories.\nDesign, Develop, Deploy and Support data infrastructure, pipelines and architecture.\nImplement reliable, scalable, and tested solutions to automate data ingestion.\nDevelopment of systems to manage batch processing and real-time streaming of data.\nEvaluate business needs and objectives.\nSupport implementation of data governance requirements.\nFacilitate pipelines, which prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modelling.\nWorking with domain teams to scale the processing of data.\nIdentify opportunities for data acquisition.\nCombine raw information from different sources.\nManage and maintain automated tools for data quality and reliability.\nExplore ways to enhance data quality and reliability.\nCollaborate with data scientists, IT, and architects on several projects.\nWhat you’ll bring\nSuccessful Candidates will have previous experience as a data or software engineer in a similar role. Requirements include;\nTechnical expertise in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, data warehouses, and leveraging data services.\nProficient in DataOps methodologies and tools, including experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, containerisation, and workflow orchestration.\nFamiliar with ETL/ELT frameworks, and experienced with Big Data Processing Tools (e.g. Spark, Airflow, Hive, etc.)\nKnowledge of programming languages (e.g. Java, Python, SQL)\nHands-on experience with SQL/NoSQL database design.\nDegree in STEM, or similar field; a master’s is a plus.\nData engineering certification (e.g. IBM Certified Data Engineer) is a plus.\nWe value skills, knowledge and experience gained through both traditional and non-traditional career paths and encourage applications from candidates who can demonstrate equivalent capability through professional experience or alternative qualifications.\nSecurity Clearance\nThis role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
