At Principal level, you will also provide local technical guidance and peer review for less experienced engineers.\nWhat you’ll do\nConfirm and document the inputs, assumptions, and interfaces for the Raven integration and test activities.\nPlan and perform the progressive integration and testing of system elements in line with the system architecture, interface definitions, requirements, and verification strategy.\nDevelop and maintain integration and test procedures that are clear, traceable, and suitable for peer review.\nExecute integration and test activities across the system and subsystems.\nCapture objective evidence, interpret results and maintain traceability between test activity, system requirements, and verification needs.\nIdentify, investigate, and communicate anomalies, and recommend resolutions.\nSupport formal test and qualification activities, ensure evidence is documented and suitable for later acceptance activity.\nSupport Raven trials and validation, including test data capture, analysis, and reporting.\nWork closely with systems, software, hardware, safety, test, trials, and project colleagues to coordinate dependencies and resolve cross-functional issues.\nProvide regular, accurate reporting on integration progress, risks, assumptions, decisions, evidence maturity, and outstanding actions.\nParticipate in peer reviews and implement review actions before engineering outputs are formally used.\nWhat you’ll bring\nWe are looking for practical systems engineers who can combine test execution with sound engineering judgement and collaborative working.\nEssential experience and capability\nExperience of system integration and test within a complex, multi-disciplinary engineering environment.\nPractical knowledge of system architectures and interfaces, and the ability to relate integration activity to requirements and verification objectives.\nExperience preparing and using engineering outputs such as integration procedures, test procedures, test records, anomaly reports or integration status reports.\nAbility to define test inputs, assumptions, boundaries, stakeholders, configurations, expected results, and acceptance criteria.\nExperience investigating integration or test problems using structured evidence, including interface, configuration, and coverage issues.\nClear written and verbal communication, with the ability to present technical information, risks and recommendations to engineering and project stakeholders.\nAbility to work across engineering disciplines and manage your own work package with limited supervision.\nA degree or equivalent experience in engineering, physics, mathematics, or another relevant STEM discipline.\nUseful additional experience\nFormal system test, verification, acceptance or certification evidence.\nPlanning or supporting system trials and validation.\nRequirements management, interface management, configuration management, or integration and test planning.\nRadar or other defence and aerospace domain experience.\nUse of test equipment, instrumentation, automated test tools, requirements databases or defect and anomaly management tools.\nPeer reviewing engineering outputs and supporting the development of less experienced engineers.\nSecurity Clearance\nThis role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
