excellence.\n Purpose of the Role\nThe Senior Android Mobile Engineer (DevOps) will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimising Android applications deployed on custom Android devices.\nThe successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to build secure, scalable, and high-performing applications while contributing to software architecture, DevOps processes, and continuous improvement initiatives that support a world-class engineering environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nSoftware Development & Architecture\nDesign, build, and maintain high-quality Android applications.\nDevelop scalable, reusable, and maintainable software solutions.\nTranslate business and technical requirements into robust development solutions.\nDesign and implement application architecture and technical frameworks.\nEnsure application security, performance, stability, and responsiveness.\nTroubleshoot and resolve software defects, issues, and performance bottlenecks.\nDevelop intuitive, user-centric interfaces that enhance the customer experience.\nTechnical Leadership\nDrive projects and technical initiatives from concept through Android applications.\nExperience working within Agile development environments.\nExposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD deployment methodologies.\nExperience working with custom Android devices and integrated hardware solutions will be advantageous.\nExperience mentoring developers and providing technical leadership within engineering teams.\nTechnical Competencies\nAdvanced Android application development expertise.\nStrong Kotlin and Java development experience.\nDeep understanding of Android SDK and Android platform architecture.\nExperience supporting multiple Android versions and device form factors.\nStrong knowledge of Android UI principles and best practices.\nExperience integrating third-party APIs and backend services.\nExperience with local databases, offline storage, and synchronisation.\nStrong understanding of threading and mobile performance optimisation.\nFamiliarity with cloud messaging and push notification frameworks.\nAbility to resolve complex technical
