Produce quality and professional engineering outputs that satisfy all requirements (Client, Codes, and Standards) by adhering to internal engineering processes.\nThis is a 100% technical role, predominantly based in a Multi-disciplinary Design Office, with no direct reports within the functional organogram. However, the role involves providing guidance to Junior Engineers/Technologists and Engineers in Training (EITs). It will be expected that the candidate can act as the Lead Engineer when assigned to specific projects managing 2 to 5 C&I design team members within the project organogram.\nKEY PERFORMANCE AREAS\nGeneral Outputs\nDevelop C&I Engineering outputs in accordance with Lesedi Engineering procedures, guidelines, and standards within the Power Generation / Oil & Gas Industry for large scale Greenfields and Brownfields projects.\nEnsure C&I designs are delivered on time and within budget.\n Tenders and ProposalsAct as Technical Proposal/Tender Lead (as appointed by the C&I Head of Discipline).\nDevelop User Requirements Specifications (URS) and Operational Requirements Specifications (ORS) with clients.\nReview and clarify URS, and brainstorm with Senior Engineers/Technologists and Head of Discipline throughout proposal and tender phases.\nConduct concept development and feasibility checks.\nCompile technical specifications and enquiry packages.\nReview technical outputs from other C&I Engineers and adjudicate supplier offers.\nDevelop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and estimate engineering effort for EPC and EPCM projects.\nProvide input to project schedules and document assumptions and URS deviations.\nPrepare technical write-ups.\nIdentify technical and commercial risks\n Design and Design ReviewsDevelop basic and detailed designs.Participate in the Development of Control System Architectures for Greenfields projects.\nDevelop C&I Design Basis\nDevelop I/O Lists\nDevelop Cable Block Diagrams\nDevelop P&IDs\nDevelop Control System Technical Specifications\nDevelop Functional Control Specifications / Control Narratives\nDevelop RAT Lists\nDevelop C&I Cable Schedules\nDevelop Specifications for C&I Field Designs (Cable Racking, Instrument Stands, Junction Boxes / Panels, Impulse Tubing etc.)\nReview C&I Drawing Office Outputs (Cable Racking, Cable Routing, Hook-up Drawings, C&I Equipment Layouts Cable\nGenerate Instrument Lists and Specifications\nParticipate in HAZOP, FMECA, LOPA and RAM Studies\n\nReview technical outputs from other C&I Engineers.\nIdentify and apply required codes and standards within designs.\nIdentify engineering risks within EPC and EPCM projects.\nAddress internal/external design review comments and obtain AFD and AFC Freeze.\nOversee sub-contractor (system integrators) designs to ensure compliance and timely delivery.\n Design IntegrationInterface with other engineering disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural) to ensure integrated design delivery.\nParticipate in Integrated Design Reviews.\nSite Engineering, Commissioning and Project HandoverSupport installation team by resolving technical queries, performing site inspections, and implementing design changes.\nSupport commissioning manager by acting as commissioning engineer, compiling procedures, and recording commissioning data.\nSupport Project Team with handover and close-out of engineering deliverables.\nDevelop as-built documentation and resolve punch lists.\nSupport system/plant performance testing and contribute to lessons learned.\nContract NegotiationsParticipate in client technical negotiations to reach approval/signature stage when needed.\n Technical Guidance and TeamworkProvide guidance to Engineers in Training (EITs) and Junior Engineers/Technologists.\nPromote and support the Lesedi Values.\nQUALIFICATION\nSc / B.Eng / B.Tech in Electronic Engineering or Equivalent\nRegistrable or Registered as a Professional Engineer/Technologist\nEXPERIENCE\nMinimum of 4 to 10 years relevant design experience with at least 2 years in the Power Generation / Oil & Gas Industry within an EPC/EPCM environment.\n\nCOMPETENCIES\nKNOWLEDGE:\nTechnical Knowledge\nKnowledge of the Engineering Design Life Cycle within EPC / EPCM Projects\nKnowledge of applicable codes and standards\nKnowledge of the OHS Act and its Regulations\nKnowledge of ISO quality systems principles\nTechnically competent within the applicable knowledge area (C&I Design)\nGood understanding of the relevant industries (Power Generation, Oil & Gas)\n Commercial and Financial KnowledgeBasic knowledge of contract management and types of contracts (NEC, FIDIC)\nKnowledge and application of project delivery models (EPC, EPCM)\n SKILLSComputer literate (MS Office)\nGood
