Recognised as one of the top 20 startups across all categories worldwide at TechCrunch Disrupt 2024 - and backed by top-tier organisations like redalpine, SOSV and Entrepreneur First - we’re pushing the boundaries of biochemistry and nanotechnology to revolutionize personalised health.\nFounded by two seasoned engineers, we bring extensive experience in R&D, technical innovation, and commercial strategy to transform the way people monitor their health. Our mission is bold: to revolutionise health management by delivering clinical-grade data directly to individuals, wherever they are.\nWe’re seeking driven innovators to join us in pushing the boundaries of biosensing and health tech, making personalised health monitoring a reality for everyone. To achieve this ambitious vision, we’re assembling the best team in the world - dedicated to turning cutting-edge science into life-changing, real-world solutions.\nAbout this role\nWe’re looking for a Hardware Electronics Engineer to take ownership of the electronics platform that powers our next-generation biosensor devices. Working closely with the founders and a multidisciplinary team across firmware, mechanical, optical and systems, you’ll translate product goals into robust architectures and executable development plans, taking designs from early concepts through prototypes, verification and release.\n\nWhat you'll do\nTake technical ownership of the electronics architecture for our medical device, driving development from early concept through prototype, verification and product release.\nDesign mixed-signal electronic systems, integrating optical modules, battery management, power electronics, motor drivers, user interface electronics and supporting sensors.\nDesign schematic capture and multi-layer PCBs, selecting appropriate components and integrating commercial modules into robust product designs.\nDevelop and validate battery charging, power management and low-power system architectures for portable medical devices.\nDesign interfaces for miniature cameras, LEDs, pumps, motors and user interface hardware including buttons, indicators and status LEDs.\nBring up, debug and validate prototype hardware using laboratory test equipment, identifying root causes and implementing robust design improvements.\nWork closely with firmware, mechanical, optical and systems engineers to ensure seamless hardware integration across the product.\nPlan and scope electronics development activities, identifying technical risks, defining development priorities and estimating work required to achieve project milestones.\nOwn the electronics design documentation, including schematics, design calculations, test plans, verification reports and manufacturing documentation.\nLead electronics risk management activities, maintaining Design FMEAs and supporting system-level risk analysis throughout product development.\nWork with PCB manufacturers, assembly houses and component suppliers to support prototype builds, design for manufacture (DFM) and design for test (DFT).\nIdentify and establish the laboratory equipment, software tools, suppliers and development processes required to build a world-class electronics function.\nContribute as a hands-on individual contributor while helping shape the future electronics capability as the team grows.\nWhat you bring\nThe ideal candidate must have:\nMaster's degree (or equivalent experience) in Electronic Engineering or a closely related discipline. With 3-5 years' industry experience developing electronic products from concept through prototype and into manufacture.\nStrong experience designing mixed-signal electronic systems including analogue, digital and power electronics.\nExperience with schematic capture and multi-layer PCB design using Altium Designer (or an equivalent ECAD package).\nExperience selecting components, designing circuits and integrating commercially available modules into complete electronic systems.\nExperience designing battery-powered embedded systems including battery charging, power regulation and power management.\nExperience designing interfaces for motors, pumps, LEDs, cameras, sensors and other peripheral devices.\nStrong hardware debugging skills using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, power analysers and other laboratory equipment.\nExperience with PCB bring-up, fault finding and hardware verification.\nUnderstanding of EMC/EMI, signal integrity and design for reliability.\nExperience working with contract manufacturers and supporting PCB assembly and prototype builds.\nExperience planning technical work, managing electronics risks and taking ownership of engineering deliverables.\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.\nA proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership of challenging technical problems.\nNice to have:\nExperience developing electronics for medical devices or regulated products.\nExperience with optical systems including cameras, LEDs, photodiodes or imaging hardware.\nExperience designing motor driver circuits or fluidic/pump control systems.\nExperience with USB, USB-C or battery charging ICs.\nFamiliarity with embedded firmware development and debugging.\nKnowledge of Design FMEA, Risk Management and Design Verification within regulated product development.\nExperience supporting Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Test (DFT).\nFamiliarity with standards such as IEC 60601, IEC 62304 or ISO 14971.\nExperience working closely with external PCB manufacturers, assembly partners and component suppliers.\nPrior work in a start-up or small company environment.\nWho You Are\nWe value culture as much as we value technical expertise, creating an environment that’s equal parts collaboration, curiosity, and fun.\nWe’re a fast-paced, mission-driven young team on a quest to make a lasting impact, fueled by uncompromising integrity, unwavering support for one another, and the thrill of exploring uncharted territories. Our passion for excellence drives everything we do, and we welcome individuals who share our commitment to shaping the future.\nIf our vision excites you, here are the qualities we look for:\nYou live and breathe integrity, tackling challenges with honesty and transparency.\nYou’re a self-starter who loves diving into the unknown, collaborating on complex problems, and taking full ownership of results.\nYou excel at open, clear communication and see every piece of feedback as a springboard for growth-especially in a science and data-focused environment.\nYou’re motivated by creating real impact, particularly when it comes to advancing human health.\nYou strike a balance between independence and collaboration, knowing when to seek support or invite others to join in.\nYou’re confident in defending your ideas, while also valuing respectful, constructive debate as a path to better solutions.\nYou thrive in the dynamic atmosphere of a startup, constantly evolving your skill set and fearlessly applying what you learn.\nWhat we offer\nA full-time role with a competitive salary and equity options, reflecting our value in your expertise and potential.\nAn environment where you’ll collaborate directly with the founding team at a leading biosensor startup, gaining access to industry experts and thought leaders.\nThe chance to grow with us, including ample opportunities for leadership, career advancement, and exploration.\nTravel to New York and other potential sites for R&D purposes.\nThe excitement of working on cutting-edge technology, shaping strategic decisions, and driving innovation at an early-stage venture alongside a superstar team.","description_format":"text","description_chars":7787,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":3,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"master","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Equity"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Biosensors","Patient
