This role will oversee the direction, coordination, and metric evaluation of general activities such as receiving, order fulfillment, and shipping. Additionally, this role is a member of the site’s Sr Leadership team and is expected to be engaged with all aspects of the site’s general operating practices, procedures, and decision making, as well as to promote continuous process improvements and build a culture centered around employee engagement and LS&Co values.\nAbout the job:\nDrive production, accountability, and continuous process improvement utilizing LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies to achieve maximum results for productivity, quality, safety, and positive employee engagement\nAccountable for key performance indicators (KPI’s) including Cost per Unit, Variable Cost per Unit, Units per Hour, inventory accuracy, and employee utilization and performance rates\nCreate a safe working environment for all team members by ensuring the site is compliant with all federal, state, local, and LS&Co standards\nManages new and refresher training to assure employees are following Method, Pace, and Safe Motion Dynamics across all operational functions.\nEnsure departmental standard work methods are in place, documented, and executed consistently throughout the entire team\nUtilize system reporting and volume forecasts to maintain adequate staffing levels required to achieve Cost & Service metrics, including advanced planning for peak volume activity\nPartner with Engineering and other cross-functional or network colleagues to identify and implement changes in specific processes that will improve team performance across all metrics\nEstablish and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure that customer service goals and specifications are met, and that orders are serviced efficiently\nLead and develop a team responsible for all general warehouse activities, including creating succession plans and opportunities for upskilling team members\nActively participate and create opportunities for Development, Coaching & Mentoring of team members\nLead special projects that align to the site and Company’s strategic business plans (SBP’s)\nAbout you:\nBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in supply chain, management, or related field preferred\n5+ years of experience in general distribution center and direct to consumer activities, preferably in an environment with fluctuating volumes\nKnowledge of demand forecasting and distribution planning processes, including distribution flow, integration, and automation\nAbility to quickly assess situations and use data to develop creative solutions to complex problems while creating a positive financial and service-level result\nProven experience in maximizing team productivity and growth\nDemonstrated ability and passion to develop, motivate, and lead in a fast-paced team environment\nAbility to actively engage in constructive feedback, coaching and mentorship; focus on both short- and longer-term performance and development with an emphasis on identifying and retaining top talent\nAbility to effectively communicate cross functionally in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities\nAbility to work with a sense of urgency to ensure operational plans are executed and communicated across all functions\nComfortable seeking opinions from individuals or teams, actively listening, challenging the status quo, and building consensus and alignment within the team\nExperience with warehouse management systems; Manhattan Active WMS preferred\nExperience using IBM Cognos Reporting System (Manhattan SCI)\nProficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel including pivot tables, data visualizations, macros, and advanced functions\nKnowledgeable regarding lean manufacturing and change management methods (5S, Gemba, Kata, etc.)\nLives the LS&Co. values of empathy, originality, integrity, courage and performance\nWe put a lot of thought into our programs to provide you with a benefits package that matters.
