We are looking for a hands-on technical leader who can guide engineering excellence. The leader will contribute to architectural decisions, mentor team members, and collaborate with teams. The goal is to deliver secure, high-quality software solutions. The engineer will use AI-assisted development tools to improve developer productivity while ensuring engineering best practices and code quality.\nAbout the role:\nTechnical Capability\nDevelop enterprise-grade full-stack applications.\n\nGuide technical design discussions and contribute to application architecture, scalability, and technology roadmaps.\n\nIdentify technical risks, dependencies, and architectural bottlenecks, and recommend appropriate solutions.\n\nPromote engineering best practices including code quality, maintainability, security, performance, and observability.\n\nMentor junior engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge-sharing sessions.\n\nSoftware Development\nDesign scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.\n\nBuild responsive, reusable, and accessible frontend applications using React.js and modern JavaScript frameworks.\n\nDesign and implement RESTful APIs and system integrations following industry standards.\n\nDevelop secure, maintainable, and well-tested software using object-oriented design principles and design patterns.\n\nImprove applications for performance, scalability, reliability, and high availability.\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex issues across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.\n\nEngineering Excellence\nParticipate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, and release planning activities.\n\nPerform peer code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and development guidelines.\n\nImplement unit, integration, and automated testing to maintain high code quality.\n\nImprove engineering practices, developer productivity, and software delivery processes.\n\nContribute to technical documentation, architecture documentation, and knowledge repositories.\n\nDevOps & Cloud\nBuild CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.\n\nDevelop containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.\n\nDeploy, monitor, and support applications hosted on Azure or GCP.\n\nEnsure operational readiness through logging, monitoring and production support.\n\nSupport incident investigation, root cause analysis, and production issue resolution.\n\nSecurity & Compliance\nImplement secure coding practices and ensure applications comply with organisational security standards.\n\nIdentify and fix application vulnerabilities and technical debt.\n\nEnsure compliance with privacy, security, and regulatory requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.\n\nCollaboration\nCollaborate with Product Managers, Architects, UX Designers, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and partners to deliver outcomes.\n\nTranslate functional and non-functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.\n\nCommunicate technical decisions, trade-offs, and project status with partners.\n\nAI-Assisted Engineering\nUse GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and similar AI development tools to accelerate software development.\n\nCreate prompts for coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and automation.\n\nValidate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.\n\nIdentify opportunities to integrate AI-assisted automation into engineering workflows.\n\nContribute to AI-enabled application features using LLM APIs and assistants where applicable.\n\nAbout you:\n7+ years of overall IT industry experience\n\nBackend: Java 8+, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, JPA/Hibernate, SQL & NoSQL Databases\n\nFrontend: React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, Redux / Context API\n\nDevOps & Cloud: Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins / GitHub Actions, Azure or GCP, Git\n\nEngineering Practices: Object-Oriented Programming, Design Patterns, API Design, Unit & Integration Testing, Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, Secure Coding Practices\n\nHands-on experience with GitHub Copilot or equivalent AI coding assistants.\n\nCreate prompts for software development tasks.\n\nExperience validating AI-generated code for quality, security, and maintainability.\n\nUnderstanding of responsible AI practices including privacy, security, compliance, and ethics.\n\nFamiliarity with integrating LLMs, AI services, or intelligent assistants into enterprise applications.\n\nEvent-Driven Architecture\n\nGraphQL\n\nPrometheus, Grafana\n\nDistributed Systems\n\nPerformance Tuning\n\nMessaging Platforms (Kafka, GCP Pub/Sub)\n\nBenefits:\nWe put a lot of thought into our programs to provide you with a benefits package that matters.
