SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES (RESPONSIBILITIES, TASKS, ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

1.Daily animal care activities to include: feeding, animal observations/identification of clinicalconcerns,andnailtrimming

2.Husbandryactivitiestoincludecagechange/cleaning,useofpowerwashandchemicaldispensingequipment,andgeneralfacilitysanitizationandsupport

3.Milkingofrabbitsandstandard supportactivitiestomeetproductiongoalsandadherencetoestablishedschedules

4.Properrestraintof rabbits to facilitate generalanimal care, transfers,samplecollection,and advancedhandling(Alrestraint)

5.TechnicalskillstoincludeIM,IV,SC,andIPinjections,andIVbloodcollectionprocedures

6.Assessanimals,initiateveterinarycareandexecuteanimaltreatments

7.Performanimalidentificationapplicationstoincludeeartags,tattoosandRFIDtransponders.

8.May perform and provide support, to include updating of records, for natural and artificialinseminationbreedingprocedures,pregnancypalpationandkindling/weaningprocedures.

9.Utilize computer and paper-based systems to accurately document and/or recordinformationtoassurecompliancewithapplicableregulations,andcompanypolicies

10.HaveanunderstandingofapplicableQualitySystems(e.g.changecontrol,deviations).

11.Maywrite,modify,andprovidetraining (asassigned)onSOPs/WI/TM

12.Demonstratetheabilitytoworkonassignedprojectsindependentlywithlittleornosupervision.

13.Identifysafetyissuesandinitiatecorrectiveactionstoreachresolution

14.Identifyandcommunicateanimalwelfareconcerns

Exhibitasoundunderstandingofapplicableanimalcareanduseguidelines.

15. Weekend and holiday coverage required on a rotating basis.
