At LG, we strive to make Life Good for Everyone. \nThe Opportunity:\nTo continually strengthen its business and support its growth in North America, LG Electronics is seeking a Quality Engineer I to join our Component Solutions team. This position will support product quality and reliability by conducting product testing, failure analysis, and quality investigations while working directly with customers and internal teams to resolve quality concerns.\nThe Quality Engineer will serve as an important technical point of contact for assigned customer accounts, helping identify root causes, coordinate corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on exposure to product testing, failure analysis, customer quality issues, and continuous improvement while partnering with teams across North America and LG operations in Korea, Thailand, and Mexico.\nThis is an individual contributor position that offers meaningful ownership of customer quality issues, giving you the opportunity to lead investigations, recommend solutions, and see quality improvements through from identification to resolution.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nPerform product and compressor testing to evaluate product performance, quality, and reliability.\nConduct teardown and failure analysis of returned products and components to identify root causes of quality issues.\nInvestigate customer complaints, field returns, warranty claims, and post-production quality concerns, and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.\nAnalyze statistical and quality data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for product or process improvement.\nPrepare quality reports, including field return analysis, warranty claim reporting, testing results, findings, and corrective actions.\nServe as the primary quality contact for assigned customer accounts, responding to quality concerns and providing technical recommendations and solutions.\nCollaborate with internal Quality Assurance, Sales Engineering, and global engineering and manufacturing teams to investigate and resolve product and customer quality issues.\nRecommend and implement improvements to testing procedures, analytical methods, product quality, and manufacturing or assembly processes.\nIdentify opportunities to improve quality and manufacturing efficiency while reducing quality-related costs.\nParticipate in quality meetings with customers, internal teams, manufacturing locations, and headquarters to communicate findings and coordinate improvement activities.\nMaintain accurate quality records, test results, reports, and supporting documentation.\nPrioritize urgent customer quality matters and initiate appropriate actions while coordinating with management and global quality teams as needed.\nJob Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.\nAbility to understand and apply quality assurance principles, testing methodologies, and analytical processes.\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize, analyze, and report on quality-related data.\nStrong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.\nAbility to analyze technical information and quality data to identify issues and recommend solutions.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information to internal teams and customers.\nAbility to work effectively across multiple functions and with global teams.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to urgent customer quality concerns.\nKorean and English bilingual communication skills preferred\nExperience in quality engineering, manufacturing quality, supplier quality, product testing, reliability, or a related engineering environment is preferred.\nExperience performing product teardown, failure analysis, or root cause investigation is preferred.\nExperience working directly with customers on product quality or technical issues is preferred.\nKnowledge of statistical quality analysis and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.\nExperience with compressors, HVAC, components, mechanical products, or other engineered products is a plus.\nFrequent travel required up to 30% of the time \nRecruiting Range\n$60,000—$70,000 USD\nBenefits Offered Full-Time Employees:\nNo-cost employee premiums for you and your eligible dependents for competitive medical, dental, vision and prescription benefits.\nAuto enrollment with immediate vesting of competitive company matching contributions in a 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with several investment options.\nGenerous Paid Time Off program that includes company holidays and a combined bank of paid sick and vacation time. \nPerformance based Short-Term Incentives (varies by role).\nAccess to confidential mental health resources to help you and your loved ones improve your quality of life.
