At LG, we strive to make Life Good for Everyone. \nChiller Application Engineer\nThe Opportunity\nLG Electronics is seeking a Chiller Application Engineer to support the selection, application, and technical sales of LG chillers and heat pumps across the U.S. market. This role serves as a technical expert for customers, consultants, representatives, and internal teams, ensuring equipment selections, system designs, and project applications align with customer requirements and LG product capabilities.\nWorking closely with Sales, Product Management, Factory Engineering, Building Automation, and Service teams, the Chiller Application Engineer will support project execution, product line activities, technical documentation, and customer-facing engineering support.\nWhy Join Our Team\nJoin a growing chiller business and play a key role in bringing innovative cooling and heating solutions to customers across North America. You'll work on complex HVAC projects, collaborate with global engineering teams, and help shape the future of LG's commercial chiller and heat pump offerings.\nWhat You'll Do\nProvide application engineering support for LG chillers and heat pumps, including equipment selection, sizing, and performance analysis.\nEvaluate project requirements including loads, operating conditions, flow rates, pressure drop, sound requirements, electrical characteristics, and system configurations.\nDevelop competitive equipment selections using approved LG software and engineering tools.\nReview chilled water, condenser water, heat pump, and hydronic system designs to ensure compatibility with LG equipment requirements.\nSupport consulting engineers, contractors, owners, and sales teams with technical recommendations and application guidance.\nInterpret plans, specifications, codes, and project requirements to prepare submittals, technical responses, compliance matrices, and equipment schedules.\nSupport building automation integration, including equipment controls, sequencing, BACnet/Modbus communications, and plant operation strategies.\nCollaborate with factory engineering, product management, and sales teams to address project-specific requirements and support product improvements.\nCapture customer feedback and market requirements to support product development and future product enhancements.\nReview and maintain technical documentation including engineering manuals, installation guides, application guides, catalogs, and product literature.\nSupport product line activities including new product introductions, engineering changes, feature enhancements, and product lifecycle management.\nDevelop and deliver technical training, presentations, webinars, and application guidance for customers, sales teams, representatives, and industry partners.\nProvide technical support during project handoff, installation, commissioning, and performance investigations.\nAnalyze field issues and collaborate with service and factory engineering teams to identify root causes and drive resolution.\nTravel as needed to support customer meetings, jobsite reviews, training, and product-related activities.\nJob Requirements\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.\n3+ years of commercial HVAC experience in application engineering, consulting engineering, technical sales support, or chiller system engineering.\nKnowledge of refrigeration systems, heat transfer, hydronics, pumps, controls, and variable-speed HVAC equipment.\nAbility to interpret plans, specifications, piping diagrams, sequences of operation, and applicable HVAC codes and standards.\nExperience performing engineering calculations and applying technical concepts to commercial HVAC systems.\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, equipment selection software, and engineering documentation tools.\nStrong technical writing, presentation, problem-solving, and project management skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.\nWillingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, air-to-water heat pumps, centrifugal chillers, or inverter-driven compressor technologies.\nExperience with chiller plant design, sequencing, building automation systems, energy analysis, or life-cycle cost evaluations.\nKnowledge of ASHRAE, AHRI, and commercial HVAC industry standards.\nExperience supporting data centers, mission-critical facilities, healthcare, higher education, industrial, or large commercial projects.\nExperience working with manufacturer engineering teams, product development, technical training, or new product introductions.\nRecruiting Range\n$90,000—$110,000 USD\nBenefits Offered Full-Time Employees:\nNo-cost employee premiums for you and your eligible dependents for competitive medical, dental, vision and prescription benefits.\nAuto enrollment with immediate vesting of competitive company matching contributions in a 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with several investment options.\nGenerous Paid Time Off program that includes company holidays and a combined bank of paid sick and vacation time. \nPerformance based Short-Term Incentives (varies by role).\nAccess to confidential mental health resources to help you and your loved ones improve your quality of life.
