At LG, we strive to make Life Good for Everyone. \nPosition Summary\nThe HVAC Controls & System Integration Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert for proprietary control systems and integration solutions. This role is responsible for system integration testing, lab and field validation, regulatory awareness, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful deployment of HVAC control solutions in the North American market.\nThis position requires both strong technical depth and the ability to operate in a consultative and leadership capacity across internal teams, distribution partners, and Global HQ.\nKey Responsibilities\n System Integration & Technical Leadership\nLead system integration testing for HVAC control systems, gateways, and cloud-connected platforms.\nEstablish and manage lab environments to replicate field conditions and troubleshoot system-level issues.\nCapture and analyze communication logs (BACnet, Modbus, RS485, UART, etc.) for root cause analysis.\nSupport integrated validation of cloud-based HVAC control platforms.\n Controls Communication & Interface Optimization\nVerify Point Lists and communication interfaces between HVAC equipment and BAS systems.\nTroubleshoot serial communication protocols (RS485, Modbus, BACnet).\nOptimize system interoperability and compatibility across devices and networks.\n HQ & Cross-Regional Collaboration\nServe as primary technical liaison between North America and Global HQ (Korea).\nCommunicate technical findings, market needs, and validation results clearly and effectively in Korean and English.\nProactively gather knowledge from HQ to strengthen U.S. operations.\nProduct Application & Pre-/Post-Sales Support\nSupport pre-sales technical assessments and on-site control system evaluations.\nDevelop application guidelines, technical documentation, and training materials.\nDeliver product and application training to internal teams, reps, and partners.\nProvide consultative support to distributors and end users.\n Industry & Regulatory Awareness\nMonitor North American HVAC regulations and standards (e.g., Title 24, AHRI).\nTrack industry trends and evolving control technologies.\nIdentify technical opportunities for market expansion and product improvement.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.\n10+ years of experience in HVAC controls, system integration, or related controls industry.\nHands-on experience with system integration testing.\nStrong troubleshooting knowledge of hardware and software systems.\nExperience with serial communication protocols (RS485, Modbus, BACnet).\nAbility to set up lab environments including electrical wiring and PCBA-level testing.\nFluent Korean language skills (required for HQ collaboration).\nStrong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.\nEligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with VRF or ductless mini-split systems.\nExperience with embedded systems or microcontrollers.\nFamiliarity with cloud-connected HVAC platforms.\nProgramming experience (C, C#, or similar).\nExperience developing technical documentation or training materials.\nExperience with mobile control applications (e.g., LG ThinQ or similar platforms).\nRecruiting Range\n$120,000—$140,000 USD\nBenefits Offered Full-Time Employees:\nNo-cost employee premiums for you and your eligible dependents for competitive medical, dental, vision and prescription benefits.\nAuto enrollment with immediate vesting of competitive company matching contributions in a 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with several investment options.\nGenerous Paid Time Off program that includes company holidays and a combined bank of paid sick and vacation time. \nPerformance based Short-Term Incentives (varies by role).\nAccess to confidential mental health resources to help you and your loved ones improve your quality of life.
