We are currently seeking candidates who are up for the challenge of operating in a high-growth, purpose-driven organization.\n We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Procurement Category Manager to join our Procurement team supporting the LGC Diagnostics and Genomics Business Unit. This role will responsible for managing key product categories and strategic vendor relationships, supporting purchasing activities within our sites while also leading initiatives to improve processes and optimize spend. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of category expertise, supplier management skills, negotiation and have demonstrated results within the Procurement function in an operational environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nCategory Management\nDevelop and execute category strategies aligned with business goals.\nConduct market analysis and benchmarking to identify sourcing opportunities.\nManage end-to-end procurement activities for assigned categories, including RFx processes, negotiations, and contracting.\nMonitor category performance and implement cost-saving initiatives.\nSupplier & Vendor Management\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers.\nLead supplier performance reviews and implement corrective actions when needed.\nCollaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure supplier alignment with business needs.\nNegotiate commercial terms and manage supplier risk.\nProcess Improvement & Team Collaboration\nIdentify and implement improvements to procurement processes, tools, and policies.\nSupport the development of standardized ways of working across the procurement team.\nCollaborate cross-functionally to drive procurement excellence and operational efficiency.\nContribute to procurement transformation initiatives and change management efforts.\nDirect and indirect team management\nGeneral Procurement Support\nEnsure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.\nSupport internal stakeholders with purchasing needs and guidance.\nMaintain accurate records and documentation in procurement systems.\nProvide mentorship and support to junior team members as needed.\n Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or other related field.\n5+ years of experience in procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing.\nStrong analytical, negotiation, and project management skills.\nProven experience in process improvement and change management.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.\nTeam management skills and experience\nProficiency in procurement systems and tools (e.g., ERP, e-sourcing platforms).\nExperience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).\nCompetencies & Behaviours:\nResonate and operate in line with LGC’s core value behaviors: Passion, Curiosity, Integrity, Brilliance, and Respect\nSelf-motivated to uncover issues and drive improvement.\nPassion for continuous improvement, process and metric driven.\nProven ability to deliver results.\nWork well in a team environment and communicate with all levels of the organization.\nAbility to influence others across a matrixed organization, as well as externally (e.g. suppliers)\n Pay range for this role is:\nMinimum: USD$124,440/ per year\nMaximum: USD$168,360/ per year\nThe salary range provided covers the minimum and maximum amounts projected for this role.
