In this constantly growing industry, we are always seeking talented and dedicated individuals to join our team.\nPlating Technicians report to the Lead Plater Technician and are responsible for assuring all assigned tasks are executed correctly and in accordance with FAR and current manufacturers’ instructions. Plating Technicians are also responsible for ascertaining the shop equipment and tooling used during the assigned tasks, making sure they are in serviceable working condition, and maintain workstations in a clean and orderly manner. They are to ensure the technical data is correct and current pertaining to the task being performed and that required work records are properly executed.\nPlating Technicians may not delegate their duties and responsibilities to any other person.\nThey are to perform mechanical and/or machining repair operations per instructions provided through Shop Travelers / Routers and Repair Manuals authorized for use by the Quality Assurance/Technical Publications Manager.\nPlating assignments at LGT are supported with Training Records and are classified as Disassembly; Assembly; Polish; Paint; Machining; Bushing & Hone; and Bushing Installation. Other classifications may be added as the company organizations expand.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nPerform maintenance and alteration tasks, including machining operations on civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Services Bulletins, Service Letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA / EASA.\nEnsure familiarity with all tools and equipment, including inspection aids used within the assigned area of responsibility.\nProperly record the work performed on the appropriate maintenance record.\nTrain to identify and match parts by part number and serial number.\nTrain to operate crane system.\nOperate degreaser and understand requirements for cleaning components.\nDo regular maintenance on degreaser equipment as per equipment manual.\nPrepare parts by masking or stop-off for plating and sandblasting.\nSandblast parts for plating or other required operations.\nPerform non-electrolytic processes like Alodine, multiple strip types, and passivation of small parts.\nTrained to transfer chemicals using different types of pumps.\nUse and transport chemical products as per Environmental and Safety regulations guidance.\nMaintain the working area clean and organized.\nAssist in tanks and accessories cleaning.\nQualifications:\nAbility to read, comprehend, and communicate in English.\nGood written and oral communication skills.\nAbility to perform job functions with little or no supervision.\nExperience operating equipment and performing maintenance/machining operations per technical drawings and Manufacturer’s Repair/Overhaul instructions.\nPrior experience in working in an FAA / EASA Certificated Repair Station Operation.\nChrome plating experience preferred \nRequirements\nPhysical Requirements:\nHandle, use, and dispose of hazard material.\nInterchangeably required to sit, stand, and walk during their shift.\nMay be required to bend, stoop or kneel to grab supplies or materials.\nMust be able to lift, carry, push, or pull or move parts, and objects across the production floor, weighing 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.\nMust be able to stand for long periods of time.\nMust be able to hear, understand, and distinguish sounds and speak clearly.\nMust be able to climb up and down stairs and spend time moving throughout the facility and catwalk.\nAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, face shield, gloves, safety shoes, and hearing protection) with or without reasonable
