Join us and help shape the future of Lhoist North America.\nPOSITION SUMMARY:\nThis position provides leadership within the Maintenance Department and is responsible for supervising maintenance personnel, including plant maintenance, mobile maintenance, and electrical staff. The position works closely with the management team and collaborates across departments, including Production, Quarry Operations, and Quality, to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.\nRESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:\nScheduling and line out of daily maintenance work\nCoordinate with the Maintenance Manager to assess and prioritize maintenance work orders based on operational needs and urgency.\nAssist in developing daily and weekly maintenance schedules and coordinating the procurement of necessary goods and services.\nMaintain SAP processes and procedures, including training team members on proper system use.\nEnsure maintenance work is completed in accordance with established standards, specifications, and guidelines.\nFollow and promote spare parts inventory management best practices to support equipment reliability and availability.\nManage maintenance activities in alignment with established departmental budget targets.\nLead daily planning and scheduling meetings with Production to identify and coordinate maintenance opportunities.\nFoster a culture of continuous improvement by working with the maintenance team to identify and implement equipment reliability and performance improvements.\nDevelop, implement, and maintain a defined Preventative Maintenance program to improve equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.\nEstablish and monitor key maintenance metrics, including equipment uptime, and develop sustainable solutions to improve equipment performance and reliability.\nLeadership of mechanics and maintenance staff\nDemonstrate positive and effective leadership while encouraging communication and collaboration across departments and functions.\nTrack and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure progress toward departmental and operational goals.\nProvide ongoing coaching, direction, development opportunities, and constructive feedback to direct reports regarding daily activities, projects, and performance expectations.\nLead and motivate the maintenance team to achieve departmental and operational objectives while maintaining safety as the highest priority.\nDemonstrate effective verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to develop and deliver PowerPoint presentations to employees, management, and other stakeholders.\nSafety\nDrive and lead a positive safety culture. \nEnsure compliance with safety and environmental standards, practices and procedures. \nDemonstrate environmental and safety regulatory leadership.\nOther\nMust have good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.\nPrevious SAP or similar system knowledge is a plus.\nPerform other duties as assigned. \nATTRIBUTES:\nMust be capable of working any shift, on-call, overtime, or seven days a week, rotating shifts, if required.\nMust be able to assist production in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedure, safety, quality control, and performance management.\nAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects as required for the position.\nGood understanding of environmental, safety and the ability to following all established procedures are required.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills. \nGood understanding of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).\nStrong sense of urgency in meeting customer needs. \nAbility to troubleshoot and problem solve mobile equipment powertrain.\nExcellent organizational and written and verbal communication skills.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:\nTolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.\nAccess all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.\nWill be working in both an office environment and in a mining/lime environment.\nThe employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles.\nThe employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking,seeing, hearing and sitting.\nAble to lift up to 50 pounds. \nREQUIRED EDUCATION:\nHigh School Diploma or GED.\nREQUIRED EXPERIENCE\nMinimum of 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance supervisor, lead or other leadership role in a fast paced manufacturing, construction, and/or mining/mineral processing environment is required. \nPREFFERED EDUCATION:\nAA or BS Technical degree in mechanical, electrical and/or related field is preferred with strong diesel engine, powertrain, electronics of heavy mobile equipment background and/or equivalent work experience in the field.
