Join us and help shape the future of Lhoist North America.\nPOSITION SUMMARY:\nThe Production Manager under the direction of the Plant Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the plant. He/she is accountable for the entire plant operations with overall responsibility for plant safety performance people engagement, production, maintenance, mining, quality, compliance, financial performance / cost control as well as all other production-related activities of the plant. The production manager must be an engaged person that can handle the demands of the operation and continually balance the competing needs of production and maintenance obligations. He/she must possess the skills needed to develop and lead a team in a plant environment. All personnel will be responsible for the facilities’ Safe Food initiative based on FSMA and Current Good Manufacturing Practices.\nRESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:\n Ensure the most safe, efficient, and economical operation of the plantManage the plant in a manner consistent with the vision of Martin Marietta\nManage the output of the plant in a way that maximizes reserves and efficiently utilizes all plant assets\nInvolved in establishing the targets and priorities for the plant to ensure consistent performance around all plant KPI’s (mining, production, maintenance, quality and cost)\nResponsible for the execution of the objectives at the plant consistent with Company and Corporate objectives; the development and the implementation of a strategic plan to meet the objectives; and the monthly and annual review of objective results.\n\nChampion plant and community communicationsCommunicate effectively with all employees on all levels\nClearly establish and communicate the vision for the plant\nServes as a potential Company’s representative or designates a representative from the plant to serve as a representative in all areas related to the business community, the industry, the surrounding community.\n\nEnsure consistent product and process qualityTimely response to customer demands\nMonitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards\nEnsures that all products produced at the plant and shipped to customers from the plant meet quality and customer requirements.\n\n Budgeting (Preparation, Execution and Control)Involved in developing and control profits, plans and budget\nAssisting with preparing the initial capital project requests consistent with the operating and maintenance needs of the plant\nMonitors manpower utilization at the plant and reviews for approval all requests for increases in the workforce.\n\nTeamwork and Team DevelopmentDelegates authority to key team members in safety, finance, mining, production, maintenance, processing, quality control, production control, shipping, and other related operations and administrative functions.\nCoordinate plant activities through planning with other members of the plant management team to ensure plant objectives are met in an effective and efficient manner\nProvide leadership and mentoring to accomplish plant goals and objectives.\nProvide direction, development, encourage collaboration, and leadership to all plant staff members\nProvides a strong and positive style of leadership ensuring high team morale and performance.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nATTRIBUTES:\nProven leadership, management and supervisory experience is required.\nPrior experience in cement, limestone or other processes\nProven track record of increasing responsibility and increasing results is required\nMust be capable of working any shift, on-call, overtime, or seven days a week, if needed.\nAbility to plan and direct the work of salaried and hourly personnel and to train and develop an effective workforce.\nTraining and experience leading Lean and/or Six Sigma in solving difficult problems is a plus.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate on all levels.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nStrong presentation and public speaking skills.\nAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meeting all required deadlines.\nStrong sense of urgency in meeting customer needs. \nStrong understanding of safety, environmental, and the desire to following all established procedures are required.\nAll personnel will be responsible for the facilities’ Safe Food initiative based on FSMA and Current Good Manufacturing Practices\nMust have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint software. Previous SAP knowledge is a plus. \nPhysical Demands include, but are not limited to:\nMust be physically able to perform work assigned.\nMust be physically capable of accessing all plant locations.\nTolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.\nAccess all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, working over water, and accessing tunnels.\nWill be working in an office environment, mining, and mineral processing environment.\nThe employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles.\nThe employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking,seeing, hearing and sitting.\nAble to lift up to 50 pounds. \nSome travel maybe required at times.\nREQUIRED EDUCATION:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Finance or equivalent leadership work experience in the field is desired.\nPREFFERED EDUCATION:\nMaster’s degree in relevant / related field is a plusundefined\nREQUIRED EXPERIENCE:\nMust have at least 5-7 years previous leadership experience in a fast-paced heavy manufacturing, construction, and/or mining environment (Lime, Minerals, Cement).
