Join us and help shape the future of Lhoist North America.\nPOSITION SUMMARY: This Purchasing Agent/Buyer position is responsible for the everyday processing of purchase orders in accordance to the purchasing policies for the respected plants. In this role, the Purchasing Agent/Buyer will work indirectly with AP to insure invoices are processed and paid according to LNA terms. The Purchasing Agent/Buyer will also source and negotiate materials and services as required.\nRESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:\nProcess purchase orders diligently, with follow-up on expedited orders.\nNegotiate with suppliers to purchase direct and indirect materials and services.\nWork closely with receiving and finance to expedite invoice payment\nManage day-to-day supplier interactions (ordering, delivery times, Invoice payment, and purchase order closing)\nFeed supplier performance data to performance management\nMaintain vendor records, i.e.; quotes, savings, and contract administration.\nPromote purchasing processes and programs with end users and drive compliance.\nATTRIBUTES:\nSAP MM / SRM intimate knowledge required\nAbility to maintain effective working relations with user groups and vendors\nAbility to listen and ascertain the needs of the respected clients\nAbility to effectively negotiate\nKnowledge of accounting principles as related to procurement.\nAbility to analyze data, make judgments and develop reports.\nFamiliarity with the Lime, cement, gypsum, mining, minerals or related industries preferred\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:\n Must be physically able to perform work assigned.\nMust be physically capable of accessing all plant locations.\nTolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.\nAccess all areas within a site which could include heights of 200 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.\nWill be working in an office environment, mining, and mineral processing environment.\nThe employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles.\nThe employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking,seeing, hearing and sitting.\nAble to lift up to 50 pounds\nMust be able to travel up to 10% as needed or directed by leadership\nREQUIRED EDUCATION:\n Associate’s degree in Business or related field. \nPREFFERED EDUCATION:\nAssociate’s degree in Business or related field. \nREQUIRED EXPERIENCE:\n 2-5 years.\nLhoist North America is proud to offer a highly competitive compensation package designed to support your well-being and future.\nOur benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with paid vacation and sick time.
