Join us and help shape the future of Lhoist North America.\nPOSITION SUMMARY:\nThis role supports the Sourcing Manager as a Sourcing point of contact for the business within an assigned geography, covering all categories, including implementation of the sourcing strategy for local/sub-regional spend (outside of global or regional categories) to achieve recurrent TCO (total cost of ownership) improvement and ongoing value creation, while managing quality and service level for the given geography.\nAdditional duties include establishing close working relationships with local/sub-regional internal stakeholders (manufacturing, technical, controlling, management…) to understand business needs and deliver adequate sourcing performance, support and collaboration with (Global and/or Regional) Category Managers for corresponding categories, support of the Sourcing Manager to manage a portfolio of sourcing initiatives (with a high spend in scope), development of relationships with suppliers in the geography, and management of a portfolio of smaller sourcing initiatives (with a lower spend in scope).\nRESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:\nExecution of spot buy process:\nEstablishes partnership with local/sub-regional stakeholders and drive alignment with local management on the sourcing strategy and implementation of a multi-year plan optimizing TCO year-over-year.\nSupports high value / complex spot buys for the geography and consults the Category managers for the relevant categories when applicable.\nSupports and collaborates with (Global and / or Regional) Category manager by providing input on local requirements for the regional and global category sourcing initiatives.\nAssists in Sourcing initiatives for local category purchases:Set up and lead cross-functional teams Organize supplier selection, identification and qualification of alternative suppliers\nIdentify TCO reduction and value creation opportunities\nIdentify cost savings while maintaining/improving the quality and service level of suppliers\nDrive negotiation, lead contract implementation \n\nTrack / Measure performance according to Group Procurement guidelines\nSupports the Procure to Pay process through the alignment of buying channels\nManages / Evaluates contract compliance, data management, and supplier performance and takes necessary corrective actions for spending under his responsibility\nOptimizes supplier base to build a manageable pool of preferred suppliers. Develops and manage long-term relationship with key suppliers of a given scope\nEnsures discipline/compliance to the agreed strategies, plans, and processes\nEnsures smooth collaboration specifically with Category Managers, Spot buyers and Analysts\nBack-up of the Sourcing Manager to represent Local Procurement in different governance bodies\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nATTRIBUTES:\nResults oriented self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. \nMust be capable of working any shift, on-call, overtime, or seven days a week, if needed by the business.\nMust work well with others within and outside the department and be comfortable working in both an office and industrial/production environment. \nDemonstrated ability to foster teamwork and contribute to team success\nExtremely dependable. Adept in an ERP environment and related reporting/data warehouse, preferably SAP/BW, to drive integrated planning solutions. \nPHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:\nMust be physically able to perform work assigned. \nMust be physically capable of accessing all plant locations. \nTolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust. \nAccess all areas within a site which could include heights of 200 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels. \nWill be working in an office environment, mining, and mineral processing environment. \nThe employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles. \nThe employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking,seeing, hearing and sitting. \nAble to lift up to 50 pounds Must be able to travel up to 50% as needed or directed by leadership\nREQUIRED EDUCATION:\nHigh School Diploma or GED required. BS degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, Engineering, or technical related field or equivalent work experience in the field is desired.\nPREFFERED EDUCATION:\nBS Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
