They're how we make decisions, push each other and show up every day.\nWHY THIS ROLE MATTERS\nLHV is moving towards an AI-native way of designing and building, and this role will help us get there.\nWe're looking for a Lead Design Engineer to own our design system and make it the foundation every designer and engineer works from. Most of our customers use our native iOS and Android apps, so that’s where this role starts, and our React-based desktop experience follows the same system.\nYou'll keep the system in Figma and code aligned, and give designers the tools and guardrails to design in code instead of handing off static files. You'll also build AI tools that make on-brand work faster and more consistent across the company.\nYou'll work hand in hand with our mobile and front-end developers, who own production code. You'll own design intent and the bridge between design and code.\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\nOwn the design system as the single source of truth across design files and code, starting with native mobile and extending to React for desktop\n\nWork with mobile, front-end and engineering leads to agree ownership, governance and versioning, and contribute to the codebase through the usual review process\n\nMake the system clear to people and AI tools, with purposefully named tokens, version control and automated checks for drift\n\nBuild and maintain a prototyping environment using real components, so designers can design in code\n\nBuild AI tools and workflows that help teams create on-brand work faster, with guardrails and human review where needed\n\nCoach designers and engineers to design and build in code, and lead our shift to AI-native design\n\nTrack adoption and differences between design and code, and keep improving the system\n\nWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR\nYou've built or owned a design system in production, used by multiple product teams, with tokens shared across design files and code\n\nYou've shipped components in a production codebase for iOS or Android and React, and can show the work\n\nYou've helped designers and engineers adopt a shared system across teams, and kept design and code aligned as it evolved\n\nYou have a strong design eye and can make sound calls on craft and consistency, as well as implementation\n\nYou use AI to build tools and prototypes, and know where its output needs guardrails\n\nYou know accessibility standards, including WCAG, and how to build accessibility into a system\n\nYou're comfortable working autonomously and shaping a role that's still taking form\n\nCurrent residency in Estonia, as relocation assistance is not provided for this role\n\nWHY YOU'LL LOVE IT HERE\nBuild something that lasts long after you've moved on\n\nThe tools, trust and autonomy to work the way great creatives work\n\nWork with ambitious colleagues who value innovation and move fast\n\nEnjoy the freedom to experiment and the ownership to build real impact\n\nGrow professionally and personally through meaningful opportunities\n\nTHE FUTURE WE'RE BUILDING\nBanking has been ugly, slow and impersonal for too long.
