The ideal candidate has hands-on knowledge of yarns, stitches, and sweater construction, along with experience supporting development from concept through production.\nKey Responsibilities\nResearch & Development\nSupport research and development of new yarns, stitches, and knit constructions aligned with seasonal direction.\nAssist in evaluating knit techniques, finishes, and fabrications for feasibility and cost.\nMaintain yarn and stitch libraries for ongoing reference.\nProduct Development\nSupport sweater development from concept through production approval.\nHelp prepare development packages including yarn specs, stitch layouts, and construction details.\nReview proto and sample submissions, providing clear comments to vendors.\nTrack development samples and follow up with vendors on timelines.\nHelp ensure product meets cost and quality targets.\nAssist in troubleshooting construction or development challenges.\nVendor & Cross-Functional Collaboration\nCommunicate regularly with overseas vendors on sample development.\nPartner with design, merchandising, and technical teams to align on development needs.\nEscalate development risks or delays when needed.\nFit & Quality Support\nParticipate in fittings and sample reviews.\nHelp ensure construction and workmanship meet standards.\nSkills & Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textiles, or related field.\n2-5 years of experience in sweater/knitwear development or R&D.\nSolid understanding of yarns, gauges, stitches, and knit construction.\nExposure to costing and margin considerations.\nExperience working with overseas factories preferred.\nStrong organizational and follow-up skills.\nAbility to manage multiple deadlines.\nPLM experience and Adobe Illustrator proficiency are a plus.\nStrong communication and teamwork skills.\nCompensation/Benefits:\nThe approximate annual base salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $105,000.00.
