The role establishes practical security architectures, controls and guardrails for AI agents and agent-enabled software development, applying them across the software development lifecycle and runtime.\nThe role works across Cybersecurity, Architecture and Engineering to translate security principles into usable engineering patterns, influence adoption and demonstrate progress through implementation and adoption outcomes. It combines strategic security architecture with practical engagement in the design and delivery of secure agentic capabilities.\nResponsibilities\nDefine and apply cybersecurity architectures, controls and guardrails for AI agents and agent-enabled software development.\nAssess and address security risks associated with agentic systems across design, development, deployment and runtime.\nApply security approaches across the software development lifecycle, including development tools, agent integrations, identities and permissions, data access, software supply chain, testing, deployment, monitoring and incident response.\nTranslate security principles and requirements into practical, reusable engineering patterns, reference architectures, standards and guidance.\nInfluence Cybersecurity, Architecture and Engineering stakeholders to align on and adopt secure approaches for Agentic Engineering.\nPartner with engineering teams to integrate security controls into agentic workflows and development platforms in ways that are effective and usable.\nIdentify adoption barriers and work with stakeholders to address them.\nEstablish or contribute to implementation plans and adoption milestones; monitor progress and communicate outcomes, risks and lessons learned.\nEvaluate emerging threats, technologies and practices relevant to AI agents and agent-enabled software development, and recommend appropriate architectural responses.\nAdvise stakeholders on security risks, trade-offs and control options, supporting informed decisions that balance risk, business needs and engineering usability.\nCollaborate with relevant teams to ensure that security approaches are consistent with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity policies and applicable standards.\nCoach and advise cybersecurity and engineering practitioners, and share knowledge to build secure Agentic Engineering capability.\nEssential Criteria\nCybersecurity architecture for Agentic Engineering: Proven experience assessing risks, defining and applying security architectures, controls and guardrails for AI agents and agent-enabled software development across the software development lifecycle and runtime.\nInfluence and secure adoption: Proven experience influencing cybersecurity, architecture and engineering stakeholders to adopt secure approaches, translating security principles into practical engineering patterns and demonstrating progress through implementation or adoption.\nSoftware engineering and cloud-native architecture: In-depth knowledge and experience across multiple aspects of Software Engineering, particularly enterprise-scale, cloud-native solutions; knowledge of modern software, devops and cloud architectures; and experience designing and leading the build of enterprise architectures and solutions.\nSenior technical leadership: Extensive, proven experience in a multi-team or program level technical leadership role, working at a senior level in a complex, multi-platform distributed environment.\nComplex solution architecture and business partnership: Experience architecting complex, scalable solutions using multiple technologies and processing environments, and partnering with business stakeholders to define technology strategies and build solutions that meet business needs using a product mindset.\nLeadership, coaching and engineering excellence: Extensive leadership, coaching and mentoring experience, including implementing engineering excellence best practices across multiple teams.\nDesired Skills and Experience\nKnowledge of identity and access management, least privilege, secrets management, data protection, software supply-chain security, threat modelling, secure-by-design practices, monitoring and incident response.\nExperience developing reference architectures, security standards, reusable patterns or engineering guardrails.\nExperience working across organisational boundaries and communicating security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nRelevant degree or professional qualifications in cybersecurity, computer science, software engineering or a related discipline.\nRole Scope\nThis is a cross-disciplinary architecture role.
