Along the way, you'll develop practical experience in modern cloud data engineering, learn from experienced engineers, and build the confidence to take on increasingly complex data products and platforms.\nWhether you're looking to deepen your existing data engineering expertise or broaden your software engineering experience into data, this is an opportunity to learn, experiment and progress your career in Data.\nExperience and skills we need\nStrong experience developing high-quality, scalable software solutions using Python\nExperience building and managing data pipelines, data products, or analytical platforms in cloud environments\nStrong understanding of data engineering fundamentals, including data modelling, data quality, governance, and optimisation\nExperience working with AWS and cloud-native data technologies\nExperience delivering solutions using Snowflake or similar enterprise data platforms\nExperience designing, building and maintaining reliable, scalable data processing solutions\nExperience working in agile software development teams and delivering production-ready software\nExperience collaborating with data scientists, analysts, product owners, and business stakeholders to solve complex business challenges\nA third level qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a STEM subject and 3+ years' software development experience in a commercial environment; or current and valid industry-recognised certifications and 5+ years' software development experience in a commercial environment\nExperience and skills we'd love\nWe've included some further skills and experience that would be great. This role offers the support, learning and practical exposure to help you build them.\nExperience with dbt, Databricks, Airflow, or similar modern data engineering technologies\nStrong analytical SQL skills and experience optimising large-scale datasets\nExperience building solutions that support machine learning, data science, or predictive modelling teams\nExperience implementing data governance, compliance, and security controls within data platforms\nExperience working with large-scale cloud data ecosystems and distributed processing technologies\nWhat you'll be doing\nBe part of a team transforming and delivering high-quality, scalable and compliant datasets that power insurance pricing and modelling capabilities\nBuild robust Python-based solutions that enable the efficient ingestion, transformation and delivery of business-critical data\nDesign, develop and maintain data pipelines and data products that support pricing, modelling and analytics teams\nWork with AWS and Snowflake technologies to deliver secure, scalable and high-performing data solutions\nCollaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, product partners and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver value\nEnsure data quality, reliability and compliance through engineering best practices and automated testing\nContribute to the architecture and design of modern data platforms and services\nMaintain and improve CI/CD processes and engineering standards across the team\nMentor and support other engineers while helping to raise technical standards and promote best practices\nAssess emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve the data engineering ecosystem\nYour Data upskilling opportunities\nIn this role, you'll be supported to build capability across the full data engineering lifecycle.
