  • Identify potentially suspicious claims and refer them to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) when appropriate.
  • Recognize opportunities for third-party risk transfer and subrogation.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and other stakeholders to gather information and resolve claims.
  • Respond promptly to written, text, and telephone inquiries, including requests for claim status updates.
  • Provide guidance regarding the appropriate course of action and refer tasks to auxiliary resources as needed.
  • Establish and maintain adequate claim reserves; recommend reserves above established authority levels when appropriate.
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants and make effective use of loss management techniques.
  • Arrange expert inspections for third-party claims or potential fraud-related matters as needed.
  • Maintain accurate, well-documented claim files and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Manage diaries effectively to ensure timely, efficient claim handling and follow-up.
  • Participate actively in departmental and team meetings and contribute to a collaborative work environment.

Training and Development

Training is an important part of your success in this role. New team members are expected to attend training reliably and participate actively in all learning activities. Consistent attendance and engagement are essential to building the knowledge and skills needed to confidently manage claims and serve our customers.
