Senior Underwriter, Mobility Solutions

Businesses are transforming how people and goods move around the country. As a Senior Underwriter with Liberty Mutual Mobility Solutions, you will evaluate and shape insurance solutions for rideshare platforms, delivery services, autonomous vehicle programs, and other emerging mobility businesses. You’ll combine market insight, analytical judgment, and creative problem-solving to support sustainable growth in evolving industries.

What You’ll Do

• Evaluate complex, unusual, emerging, or high-value mobility risks, including those involving rideshare networks, delivery fleets, autonomous vehicle technology, connected vehicles, and mobility platforms.
• Manage a portfolio of clients, brokers, and mobility partners, using market presence and industry knowledge to develop and underwrite profitable business.
• Underwrite policies within delegated authority, seeking guidance from leadership as needed, and make analytical, data-driven decisions on risk selection, terms, conditions, and pricing.
• Serve as a trusted representative of Liberty Mutual, building relationships with brokers, agents, technology providers, platform operators, and other mobility stakeholders.
• Strengthen existing relationships and develop new ones to generate opportunities, understand changing exposures, and deliver responsive solutions.
• Identify how evolving mobility models, technologies, regulations, and legislation may affect underwriting decisions and portfolio performance.
• Recognize and communicate emerging exposure trends across rideshare, delivery services, autonomous vehicles, and related mobility segments.
• Contribute ideas for product development and participate in the design, development, and execution of new mobility solutions.
• Analyze portfolio performance and recommend opportunities for growth, refinement, risk improvement, or product development.
• Collaborate effectively with Underwriting Support, Claims, Actuarial, Office of Underwriting, and other teams and partners across Liberty Mutual.
• Contribute to team projects, including process, workflow, data, and underwriting-tool improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business or equivalent typically required
• A minimum of 2.5 years, typically 3 or more years, of progressive underwriting experience and/or other related experience
• CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred
• Proven analytical ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks within scope of responsibility that includes competence with all phases and aspects of the underwriting process, and proficiency in the use of qualitative and quantitative tools and techniques
• Must demonstrate comprehension of complex technical underwriting issues and be capable of defining and implementing necessary underwriting and administrative processes/workflows to properly manage or administer those issues
• Proven track record of developing and underwriting profitable business
