Description
Under limited supervision, this role will support the Risk & Compliance Solutions’ Distribution & Marketing team by executing day-to-day risk, control and compliance activities that protect customers, brand, partner relationships and profitability. They will translate strategicdirection from channel and Compliance leadership into advisory and consultative support for the organization, including but not limited to proactive risk management, control testing and assessments, risk reviews/audits, data quality reviews and issue resolution. The role partners operationally with multiple levels of Distribution & Marketing leadership, the Fraud Hub, Legal, GC&E, Global Internal Audit, and Finance to mitigate all risks associated with Distribution & Marketing operations. They will also identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology and automation, maintain risk/control documentation, and escalate issues to ensure alignment with the USRM roadmap.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Distribution & Marketing Risk & Compliance program by executing assigned risk, control and compliance activities that protect customers, brand, partner relationships, and profitability.
- Translate the strategic and tactical direction set by the Distribution & Marketing Risk & Compliance leader into coordinated day-to-day work; track progress against objectives and provide performance input to help the team meet USRM goals.
- With a strong understanding of Distribution & Marketing business objectives and roadmap, assess existing internal controls, document findings, and develop and implement short- and long-term remediation plans to maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Prepare clear, data-driven communications for Distribution & Marketing managers (including senior stakeholders as needed) that describe control deficiencies, root causes, recommended fixes, and status of remediation activities.
- Make timely, well-reasoned recommendations and decisions within delegated authority to enable effective first-line risk management, and escalate matters that require leadership resolution or cross-functional coordination.
- Design and execute proactive risk management activities to identify and mitigate regulatory, operational, compliance, reputational and financial risks through consultation, control testing, audits, data quality reviews, and issue management.
- Run risk-based assessments for assigned processes or channels, synthesize results, and provide actionable recommendations that align to the Distribution & Marketing strategic roadmap while preserving financial integrity.
- Act as a primary contributor on complex, multi-channel projects related to Risk & Compliance Solutions - defining requirements, executing controls testing, supporting implementation, and validating post-launch controls.
- Maintain regular, constructive collaboration with the Fraud Hub; share findings and coordinate joint mitigation steps and monitoring approaches.
- Partner operationally with Legal, GC&E and other internal stakeholders to analyze the impact of regulatory and legislative changes on processes and systems and to implement required changes.
- Support audits and attestations by preparing required documentation, coordinating responses, executing requested testing, and acting as the operational contact for external auditors and Corporate Finance.
- Assist with Regulatory Change Processes and support Internal Audit oversight activities by scheduling workstreams, compiling evidence, and tracking remediation items to closure.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology, automation and other resources to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the Distribution & Marketing controls environment; build business cases and support pilots or rollouts.
- Maintain accurate risk and control documentation, status trackers, and management reporting to ensure transparency and timely escalation of open issues.
Note: this is flex grade level posting for either a Grade 15 Sr. Compliance Analyst or Grade 16 Lead Compliance Analyst.
Qualifications
- Bachelor`s degree in a quantitative subject (example: Mathematics, Finance, Economics) or Legal/Political Science/Insurance and experience with quantitative analysis preferred.
- 3 to 5 years related work experience preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance principles and concepts required.
- Advanced analytical/problem solving and research skills.
- Effective communication skills for writing reports/proposals and making presentations.
- Ability to work independently and lead others during projects is a must.
