Description
The Senior Analyst position combines tooling ownership responsibilities with hands on pricing analysis and defect resolution. For the tooling ownership component, you will work closely with cross functional teams to gather business requirements for pricing model adjacent tooling to address regulatory requirements or accelerate the speed-to-market of our pricing models. The hands-on analyst portion of the role includes troubleshooting premium mismatches and building or maintaining ground up pricing tooling. **Candidates who live within 50 miles of Boston, MA; Portsmouth, NH; Seattle, WA; Columbus, OH; or Plano, TX will follow a hybrid schedule, coming into the office two days per week. Otherwise, this role is remote with occasional travel.**
In this role, you will:
- Own the roadmap and backlog for pricing tooling in coordination with US Data Science Tools engineers - prioritizing requirements, refining and estimating tickets, and aligning delivery to stakeholder timelines
- Drive the development and implementation of scripts, tools, and processes for Earnix across various rating programs, states, and lines of business.
- Analyze and address procedural and technical challenges, proposing and implementing tool improvements in coordination with team members and management.
- Support and maintain SAS environment pricing tools (such as NGRT, Base Rate Calculators, and configuration files) to ensure accurate pricing and successful rating program rollouts.
- Work directly with Python, SAS, and Excel to develop or maintain tools, conduct pricing analyses, and perform quality control checks.
- Share progress, insights, and outcomes with peers, managers, and cross-functional partners, occasionally through formal presentations.

The ideal candidate will have:
- demonstrated end-to-end ownership of projects or tools
- Familiarity with insurance pricing principles
- Comfort working within a software development lifecycle
- Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, VBA and statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, SQL, Python, Snowflake, PowerBI).
- Must have strong planning, organizational, analytical, decision making and communication skills.
- Exposure to Earnix or similar pricing/rating platforms (preferred)

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, economics, statistics, or other quantitative field.
- Minimum 3 years relevant work experience, typically 4 years.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, Emblem).
- Must have strong planning, organizational, analytical, decision making and communication skills.
