The successful candidate will receive structured training, mentoring and practical on-the-job experience to develop the knowledge, skills and competencies required to progress as a professional Welding Engineer.\nThe employee will be expected to attain and maintain an appropriate standard of independent certification to ensure competency required for the role of Welding Engineer. The Company is committed to supporting the employee’s professional development and where the employee does not already hold an appropriate qualification as an EWE/IWE (European/International Welding Engineer), training and support will be provided. Further certification may be required if the requirements of the appropriate international standards for the welding engineering knowledge base dictate it or as may be required by the company when these are identified.\nResponsibilities shall include, but are not limited to the following:\nComplete agreed graduate objectives and development activities.\nAttend and complete relevant training courses, including training associated with new or existing equipment, processes, systems, standards and procedures.\nDevelop knowledge and experience in tasks and responsibilities identified in ISO14731 Annex B in support of the company management systems and standards.\nCoordinate welding management and related activities.\nPrepare relevant reports in a timely and professional manner using appropriate company equipment e.g. computers, digital cameras, NDT equipment etc.\nMake use of computer-based systems including CAD, BAAN, LIKV, LIDA systems available within LCC and other software packages e.g. E-mail, Word, Excel, etc.\nLiaise and communicate with personnel and departments within LCC and any external companies as may be necessary from time to time.\nInvestigate quality / production /welding issues in a professional and diligent manner.\nStrive to drive continuous improvement in LCC.\nSupport and develop quality management systems and support the certifications held by LCC (ISO9001, ISO 3834-2, EN1090 etc.).\nSupport, cooperate and assist other engineers and inspectors in the course of their duties as necessary.\nKeep records of work and control inspections carried out, including new records which may be introduced as necessary to demonstrate product quality, quality control and completion of inspections.\nCooperate in the management of welding activities throughout the company.\nCarry out or assist in welder certification and testing.\nMonitor the quality of welding on a continuous basis and report findings to both production and management personnel as necessary with relevant KPI’s.\nCarry out weld testing using whatever means are necessary or required e.g. visual examination, hardness testing, weld macro examination etc. and other duties may be necessary from time to time as directed by MQ and management.\nProduce, coordinate, and document Welding Procedure Qualification Reports / Testing, Welding Procedure Specification and other documentation as may be required to control monitor and demonstrate good practices in welding management.\nAssist other control inspectors or carry out other quality department functions.\nQualifications Requirements and Experience\nA degree in Mechanical Engineering.\nRelevant knowledge in all aspects of steel fabrication.\nGood knowledge of Engineering Materials and Physical Metallurgy will be an advantage.\nGood computer skills, with experience in CAD being a distinct advantage.\nGood organizational and time management skills.\nWillingness to travel.\nBenefits\nWhat We Offer:\nCompetitive Salary\nPaid overtime\nEnd of Year Bonus\nPension Scheme\nService Pay\nEarly finish on a Friday\n21 days annual leave + Length of service days\nCompany Fixed Days\nSubsidised canteen\nSports and Social Club\nRetailer Discounts\nLife Assurance\nRefer a friend Scheme\nMaternity Pay\nEducational assistance\nCareer Progression Opportunities\n**Please note, CV's will not be accepted directly by email.\n**We do not require the assistance of recruitment agencies for this role.\nHave we awoken your interest?
