Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, the Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for carrying out the maintenance on machines, optimising functionality and ensuring machines are in safe working order. They will work efficiently, as per maintenance schedule, completing records for each machine.\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to the following:\nMaintenance, repair and installation of miscellaneous machines and services throughout the factory, in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.\nWorking in accordance with preventative maintenance schedules, job cards and procedures.\nMaintenance of records, either manually or using a PC based recording system.\nRecording of service / preventative maintenance records and signing off of job cards for completed tasks.\nUpdating shift handover logbook as required at the end of the shift.\nUpdating of spare parts log / store inventories and recording of parts used.\nProviding feedback on weak points on machinery, and further machine maintenance requirements.\nLearning how machines function, and development of skills, knowledge and competencies regarding machine maintenance tasks.\nWorking on own initiative and liaising with operators, chargehands, supervisors and others as required to successfully complete maintenance tasks.\nChecking machine manuals, drawings, preventative maintenance schedules etc. when required to successfully complete tasks.\nRemoving machines from service, which, if put back into operation may pose a health and safety risk to operators or others.\nTraining, both on and off the job, on current and future machines / services within the company, this may necessitate travel abroad for training.\nQualifications, Requirements & Experience\nA qualified Fitter or other relevant related qualification.\nMinimum of 3 years’ previous experience in a maintenance department.\nThe ability to work at heights and in confined spaces is essential.\nBasic PC skills are required.\nExperience in the use and/or maintenance /repair of overhead cranes and lifting equipment would be an advantage.\nExperience with heavy steel construction environment would be an advantage.\nMust be available to work 06:30 - 15:00 / 15:00 - 23:30 Monday to Thursday and 06:30 - 12:30 / 12:30 - 18:30 on Fridays.\nBenefits\nCompetitive Salary\nPaid overtime\nEnd of Year Bonus\nPension Scheme\nService Pay\nEarly finish on a Friday\n21 days annual leave + Length of service days\nCompany Fixed Days\nSubsidised canteen\nSports and Social Club\nRetailer Discounts\nLife Assurance\nRefer a friend Scheme\nMaternity Pay\nEducational assistance\nCareer Progression Opportunities\n**Please note, CV's will not be accepted directly by email.\n**We do not require the assistance of recruitment agencies for this role.\nHave we awoken your interest?
