How you’ll contribute

An Echocardiology Technician who excels in this role:

  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders.

  • Educatespatient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.

  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.

  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.

  • Preparesequipment and supplies.

  • Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.

  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).

  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.

  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.

  • Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

What we’re looking for

  • Education: Associates degree required.

  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required

  • Licenses: Must be ARDMS registered or ARDMS registry eligible. Current Echo Registry certification registered or registry eligible within one year of employment or transfer into position.

  • Required Skills: Familiarity with organization and functions of each hospital department Leadership ability, integrity, and initiative required. Ability to solve problems effectively and handle stress in a positive manner. Maintain harmonious relationships with nursing personnel, medical staff, hospital administration, and all hospital department.
