Join a collaborative, close-knit finance team where you’ll work directly with the CFO and serve as a trusted financial resource for leaders across the hospital. This role offers meaningful exposure to facility operations, strong partnership with Lifepoint’s centralized finance teams, and an opportunity to grow into broader finance leadership for someone looking to advance their career.

How you’ll contribute

A Financial Analyst who excels in this role:

  • Prepare general ledger journal entries in conjunction with the monthly close process and assist with reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts.

  • Partner with the CFO and LBS finance teams throughout the monthly close process, reviewing account activity, identifying issues and completing required financial and variance analysis.

  • Prepare periodic financial forecasts and projections in partnership with the CFO.

  • Analyze financial performance and investigate variances against budget, forecast and prior performance.

  • Prepare, review and finalize variance analyses and supporting financial information for month-end reporting.

  • Develop analytical and departmental financial reports as needed to support operational and leadership decision-making.

  • Assist with the development and administration of the organization’s annual operating budget; greater ownership may be assumed as knowledge of the facility and operations develops.

  • Serve as a financial resource and liaison for department leaders, helping research and resolve accounting, budget and financial questions.

  • Monitor accounts payable activity and partner with LBS to identify and resolve payment or processing issues requiring escalation.

  • Work closely with the facility’s LBS Site Coordinator and other centralized finance partners to support accounting activities and ensure timely completion of close requirements.

  • Support daily charge reconciliation processes by monitoring completion and assisting with follow-up or resolution of identified issues.

  • Serve as an interdepartmental liaison and work with internal and external auditors to prepare for and facilitate audits.

  • Help ensure departmental and organizational compliance with applicable accounting standards, hospital policies, laws and regulations.

  • Provide financial and accounting support for additional projects, analyses and initiatives as needed by the CFO.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have an associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Additional requirements include:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting, finance or financial analysis experience required.

  • Working knowledge of general accounting principles, journal entries, account analysis and financial reporting.

  • Experience supporting month-end close, financial forecasting, budgeting and/or variance analysis strongly preferred.

  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify, research and explain financial variances.

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting systems.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with department leaders and centralized finance teams.

  • Healthcare finance/accounting experience preferred.

  • Previous Lifepoint Health experience and knowledge of Lifepoint accounting policies/processes highly preferred.

  • Oracle experience strongly preferred; experience within another centralized/shared-services healthcare finance environment is also valuable.
