Team members help connect patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital staff with the appropriate departments and personnel while supporting hospital-wide paging and emergency communications. In this fast-paced environment, you’ll work closely with others, respond to changing needs, and help ensure clear, reliable communication throughout the facility. Through every call and connection, the Switchboard team helps keep hospital operations running smoothly and supports a positive experience for patients, families, and staff.\nHow you’ll contribute\nA Switchboard Operator who excels in this role:\nManaging incoming hospital calls and directing callers to the appropriate departments, staff members, and patient rooms in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.\nCoordinating hospital-wide paging, intercom announcements, and dial-a-page services to support effective communication throughout the facility.\nResponding promptly to emergency calls and pages by following established procedures and notifying appropriate personnel to support timely communication during critical situations.\nMaintaining accurate and up-to-date switchboard information, including hospital extensions, patient room assignments, admissions, discharges, and employee contact information.\nFacilitating after-hours communication by contacting on-call personnel as requested by the Nursing Supervisor and promptly relaying messages through telephone and paging systems.\nMaintaining current disaster procedure files, emergency contact information, and relevant switchboard policies to support hospital preparedness and emergency response.\nProviding helpful, professional service to callers, patients, visitors, and hospital staff while handling inquiries and directing communications appropriately.\nExercising sound judgment, critical thinking, and initiative while managing multiple calls and priorities, working with minimal supervision, and remaining calm in stressful or emergency situations.\nSchedule: Full-Time: NIGHTS\nWhy join us\nWe believe that investing in our employees is the first step to providing excellent patient care.
