From large multi-aircraft projects to small custom projects, LifePort supplies the industry’s largest aerospace OEMs and end users with the finest aviation solutions today.\nPosition Summary:\nThis position directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering project within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties.\nEssential Functions:\nNew product designs, from conceptual through detail design phases\nCreate and track schedules using Microsoft Project, or equivalent\nManage projects from initial drawing release to liaison support and product delivery\nMaintain metrics to track budget and schedule requirements\nManage prototype construction and testing\nWork with supply chain to identify and develop vendors \nCreate and present concepts/products to internal and external customers\nCreate test plans, conduct testing and documenting results\nTechnical presentations to internal and external customers \nProduct definition and requirements development and creation of statement of work (SOW)\nCreating and validating new designs (modeling/drafting/BOM creation) \nMaterials research and selection to support design requirements\nQualification test plan/report creation and management\nManufacturing liaison support \nCoordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages.\nReviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications\nEvaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases\nDevelop and maintain engineering standard work\nActs as a mentor and provides feedback for lower level engineers\nParticipates in peer technical reviews and final design sign-off\nParticipate in project bids and proposals for bid hours and technical compliance\nQualifications\nJob Specifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):\nAbility to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multitask\nExcellent organization skills with strong attention to detail\nExcellent teamwork skills and high degree of initiative required\nExcellent communication both written and verbal\nWork independently and possess a high level of self-motivation and initiative\nWorking knowledge of FAA and MIL testing standards\nExperience with FAA and military certification\nMust be proficient with MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)\nExperience in SolidWorks and Enterprise PDM, or equivalent\nWorking knowledge of aerospace materials and standards\nFamiliarity with working with ERP system\nEducation, Certifications and Experience:\nBS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace from ABET accredited institution\n10-15 years’ experience \nPhysical Demands and Work Environment:\nWorking conditions are normal for that of a manufacturing/machine shop/office environment.\nAll employees are expected to adhere to Company safety policies and wear personal protective equipment when exposed to work areas or performing tasks where it is required.\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
