From large multi-aircraft projects to small custom projects, LifePort supplies the industry’s largest aerospace OEMs and end users with the finest aviation solutions today.\nPosition Summary:\nThis position designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, material handling, and testing of metallic and composite materials.\nEssential Functions:\nDesigns and manufactures tooling fixtures and shop aids to increase efficiency and standardization in production labor \nDevelops procedures for use of tooling fixtures and shop aids\nDevelops procedures and operational sequences for build of complicated product\nReviews and/or develops operational sequence documentation for production technicians to follow\nDesigns arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout\nAdapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions\nMay incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan\nInvestigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality\nDevelops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques\nProvides recommendations and assistance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques\nProvides assistance and support to production regarding engineering requirements to best utilize manufacturing techniques to obtain conforming product in the most practical and efficient manner.\nSupport material and mechanical testing in the laboratory as needed to qualify, verify, or validate metallic and composite product.\nManufacturing liaison support \nEnsures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations\nCreates, designs and manipulates solid models, assemblies, layouts and detail drawings\nKnowledge of quality and certification requirements in regulated manufacturing industries as required by the business (e.g. AS 9100, FAA, ISO 9001, Nadcap)\nQualifications\nJob Specifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):\nAbility to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multitask\nExcellent organization skills with strong attention to detail\nExcellent teamwork skills and high degree of initiative required\nExcellent communication both written and verbal\nWork independently and possess a high level of self-motivation and initiative\nProficient in CAD both 2D and 3D\nMust be proficient with MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)\nExperience in SolidWorks and Enterprise PDM preferred\nEducation, Certifications and Experience:\nBS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering \n0 - 4 years’ experience \nMS degree no experience required \nPhysical Demands and Work Environment:\nWorking conditions are normal for that of a manufacturing/machine shop/office environment.\nAll employees are expected to adhere to Company safety policies and wear personal protective equipment when exposed to work areas or performing tasks where it is required.\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
