From large multi-aircraft projects to small custom projects, LifePort supplies the industry’s largest aerospace OEMs and end users with the finest aviation solutions today.\n\nPosition Overview:\nPerforms a variety of composite part manufacturing tasks that may include lamination, bonding, trimming, assembly, and inspection. Supports the fabrication and repair of composite components using multiple manufacturing processes and equipment, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.\nEssential Functions:\nWork safely on a team and contribute to the manufacturing process\nRead and strictly adhere to written work instructions, planning documents, and detailed processes\nRead and interpret blueprints, drawings, manuals, and specifications\nAbility to use composite materials such as fiberglass, carbon fiber, epoxy resins, and honeycomb core\nPerform composite manufacturing using processes such as prepreg layup, vacuum infusion, and wet layups\nPerform adhesive bonding of components and assemblies\nPerform vacuum bagging for curing operations\nOperate composite manufacturing equipment such as ply cutters, platen presses, curing ovens, autoclaves, panel saws, and table saws\nTrim, drill, sand, and grind composite parts using hand and power tools including routers, drills, and sanders\nLay out and measure parts to meet tolerance requirements\nInspect parts and identify non-conformances\nApply fillers and fairing compounds to meet surface quality specifications\nInstall inserts and fasteners in composite assemblies\nSafely use chemicals, solvents, adhesives, and resins\nWork to comply with engineering, quality, and customer specifications\nMaintain documentation, record required traceability information, and support quality standards such as AS9100 and NADCAP\nExperienced technicians may support onboarding and training of technicians as needed\nQualifications\nJob Specifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):\nStrong teamwork and communication skills\nAbility to follow instructions and work with attention to detail\nStrong organization skills\nAbility to work independently with initiative and accountability\nCoachable attitude and willingness to learn new skills\nAerospace or manufacturing experience preferred\nFamiliarity with FOD requirements and aerospace manufacturing practices beneficial\nEducation, Certifications, and Experience:\nHigh school diploma or GED required\nComposite manufacturing experience preferred; experience levels may vary depending on assignment\nTechnical school training or industry certifications (such as ACMA) preferred but not required for experienced technicians\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment:\nWorking conditions are normal for that of a manufacturing/machine shop/office environment.\nAll employees are expected to adhere to Company safety policies and wear personal protective equipment when exposed to work areas or performing tasks where it is required.\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
